Strength:
Build quality,power.
Weakness:
Was led to belief at time of purchase it was made in USA,much to my surprise was farmed out over seas.Nevre the less has been an excellent performer as i know of an other consumer who had problems with his,i'm keeping my fingers crossed as all is well after 4.5 years. Was extremely disappointed[item sat in box unopened for 2 weeks]to find out this was the begining of the end as when i finally opened box that it had been made else where.It was my fault to wait as i knew better,but it has so far perfomed very well with no problems,as i know of others who have.Carvers problems seem to have started when they started to build other than in washington state.I realize that there is nothing terribly wrong with over seas out sourcing,but there is a lot to be said of quality control when one grows to big.Bigger is not always better. VERY, VERY Powerful AMP. Detailed hi end and Deep lows.
Weakness:
Slight transformer humm, RUNS VERY HOT This is an excelent choice for the entry level audio-fanatic. It is an excelent choice amp for MUSIC and video. Amp is very musical. The more it worms up the better the sound is. Let the amp heat up and it does wonders. It can handle 2 ohm loads. I drive 2 - 15 inch and a 12 inch subs in a 4 ohm configuration and the amp runs this setup off the center channel with no problems. It will run the most complicated loads without ever running out of juice. The heating up part is this amps biggest weakness. If you can handle that, then go and get this amp NOW! Very powerfull, very musical (unlike my ADCOM) drives 2 ohm loads at all 5 chnals. Power steering technology helps deliver more power to the rear chanels when watching DTS movies.
Weakness:
Runs worm if played at low volume. Owesome amp. If you are not ready to spent over $1000 for a audiophile amp, this amp is the one to buy. Power steering technology helps deliver more power to the rear chanels when watching DTS movies .
