Strength:
Great dynamics (for such low power), extremely reliable (it made not problems in over 10 years). Smooth listening. In Germany we would say typicall american sound, I like it. Just great...
Weakness:
Nothing I am aware of... I just wished that the LED power metering wasn't there, but it has been taken away with the newer version (seen on the picture shown)... Well, I am writing this review for the previous model. 2x120W at 4 ohm, 2x60W at 8 ohm. As far as I am informed, the newer model (bipolar) has a stronger power supply, and therefore it delivers a bit more of power. But even with the less stronger power version, this amplifier is just great. It is able to handle complex speackers as the AXIS 5 of Dynaudio (I say this because of their low sensitivity 85db at 1W), or they very nice audiophile Dynaudio Contour. What I like best is the smooth tonality, its great dynamics... at higher frequecies, but also the capability to deliver enormous dynamics in bass, and also in midranges. I have owned this amplifier for over 10 years now, and I do not get sick of it. There are days where i listen music really for several hours. The sound is not stressy and always very pleasent Similar Products Used: REVOX 150 Integrated Amplifier, YAMAHA C4 / M4 combination. |
