Strength:

Very clean power especially at low impedences, THD < 0.04% down to two ohms. 80 watts of POWER unlike any AVR power. My Denon CD can jack into the back of the Amp Two without a preamplifier. A CD player and the Amp Two give you awesome sound. It has left and right power analog power meters that are useful and appealing to the eye. Peak limiter circuit. The price for performance.

Weakness:

You actually have to set everything by hand, no remote. But I enjoy doing it. You give your Amp Two the personal touch.

I bought this amp to bi-amp my new Klipsch KLF-20 speakers. I had them biwired to my Denon AVR-3802. They have improved my stereo sound and the bi-amplification produces a larger soundstage with better detail than my previous biwired setup. Biwired was better than a single pair of wires to each speaker. I think the Audiosource Amp Two has less distortion for the low impedence sounds below 500 Hz. It is rated at 80 watts per channel but it blows away the Denon rated at 110 watts per channel. It seems easily twice as powerful. It snaps and crackles when first turned on.

This is my first amplifier, but I have had many receivers: JVC, Technics, Harman/Kardon, Denon.

Strength:

Sound, Price, Flexibility

Weakness:

I would have liked a front panel switch to select between the input sources (pre-amp or direct).

I just wanted to add another 'at-a-boy' cudo to AudioSource for making such a great component at an amazing price. I'm thinking of getting a second one so I can run a pair in bridged mode.

I'm running Magenpan MMG's (4 ohm planars) with ease and impressive soundstage. Naturally, the speakers are the principal cause of convincing realism, but they would also reveal a poor quality amp in a heartbeat.

Is there better? Isn't there always? - just don't expect those amps to be friendly to your bank account.

This amp would still rate five stars at two or three times its cost.

Strength:

VERY affordable price, good power and control, great features such as front volume pots, twin power meters, peak limiter, meter range switch; overall warm expensive silky sound

Weakness:

I tried hard to find even one, but at this price, no way!

In a nutshell, this amplifier is a sonic STEAL! I picked mine up for under $265, and it sounds quite 'high-end'. It's sound is silky, warm, and neutral. It has very nice dynamics as well, powering my Paradigm Monitor 7's with ease! I honestly feel that this quality built, all aluminum/steel bulletproof amp can EASILY compare to amps in the $1000 range in quality of build AND sonics. I second all the positives that have been said here about this little gem! Their website, audiosource.net is also a great informational site as far as specs go. Congrats AudioSource for such a great, well-built well-priced amp!

Strength:

This amp is a very dynamic with good details and the warm sound. Is also the abilities to drive low ohms speakers.

Weakness:

Too bad has no provisions for 240 V.A.C. Am thereforr usings a heavy dutys transformer for the volts conversian

Here in Greece a huge tax is imposed on outside electronics equipments but I was able to get this amp from my cousin in NYC when he comes over to visit. The customs man is my uncle so I got lucky! Anyways this amplifiers is a great value. Is not so expensive but its sound is like an amp that costs more money. The sound with the quality electronics and speakers is very very good and sweet with excellent soundstage, air, detail, and the warmth that makes music involve the listeners for long time. I am reading the previous posts and I too is running only direct CD connection with no preamp. Is better more direct pure sounds this way! My ekuipment is 3A Monitors, Sony ES Cd player, Audio Source amp 2, Monster 1.2s speakers cable, and Cardas interconnect. Congratulatians to the Audio Source company for some fantastic products for good price!

Strength:

Everything. Toroidal transformer, great looks, cool meters (I think the meters are way cool to ponder), nice, balanced neutral sound

Weakness:

Are you kidding, for this price?!

This is one honey of an amp for the bucks. Great higher end sound, balance, decent power. Am also going direct into amp with no preamp, and the sound is fantastic. Sounds just as nice as my much more expensive Rotel.

Equipment:
AudioSource AMP 2
Rega Planet CD player
Mission 775 speakers
Cardas cabling

Strength:

Aesthetics and performance; excellent price and value; very solidly and well built; binding posts!

Weakness:

Does not apply

I just purchased this amp for my secondary office system. The unit itself is gorgeous with it's solid metal construction and brushed black aluminum front with the dual lit power meters and dual L and R gain/volume controls. I am running my CD player DIRECTLY into this amplifier, without a preamp, thus saving me the cost of a preamp itself, and giving me a more direct connection. The only drawback to this, of course, is having to turn 2 volume knobs instead of only 1 if I was running a preamp. But this is minor. Performancewise, this is one powerful little amp for it's price and 'slim-line' size! It seems to have good reserves for powering most small to mid-sized speakers, and the sound is warm and dynamic at once. As an audiophile with a fairly critical ear, and a much more expensive MAIN system, I can really appreciate the quality that AudioSource put into this amplifier! Clearly one of the best sounding, best bang-per-buck buys in home audio today! You CAN have your cake and eat it too, with the AudioSource AMP TWO! Great job A.S.!!!!!

Strength:

Pure clean amp. Solid construction and controls. Small and unobtrusive. Low price!

Weakness:

Within its price point, none that I can think of.

This amp just gives rock solid performance. I cannot say enough good things about this amp. It performs as well as amps costing 3-4 times its price. Solid construction on this unit as well. On top of that, it has a sleek frame that fits in tight spaces.

I can't really even think of something to truly complain about. I guess it could have a little more power, but at this price level you just can't complain.

I'll reserve a 5 star overall ranking for the $10,000 world-beaters, but the value is 5+ stars. There are too many reviews out there giving 5 stars where the value isn't even close to this. This amp would still be a top performer in the $800 range.

Strength:

Very neutral and airy sounding; good power and control; can play into 4 ohms (for example when running Magnepan speakers)

Weakness:

None at all. Really!

This amp is the biggest 'sleeper' in quality audio bargains. Construction is bulletproof, all metal/aluminum, and the sound is glorious coupled to good speakers. I was able to save hundreds if not thousands of dollars by seeking out great sounding equipment for the money, and the AudioSource is second to none in this regard! My Magnepan MG12/QR's are so revealing that if this little AudioSource had any flaws, I would hear it. However, all that has been emanating from the Maggies is pure, sweet, musicality... part courtesy of the AMP TWO! Music and vocals just SOAR with this little amp, and the sound is very airy and controlled, with good detail. My God, I have to pinch myself to remind me that I only paid about $255 for this amplifier! This amp would even be a good deal at 3 times this price. Thank you AudioSource!

My system is:

Magnepan MG12/QR's
Velodyne CT100 powered subwoofer
AudioSource AMP TWO
Musical Fidelity A3CR preamp
Marantz CD-67SE CD player
Monster 950's all around

This little amp kicks serious butt. I've never reached it's limits or heard it go into clipping on any material. A must audition an inexpensive to boot.
