Strength:

Kicks musical and HT ass! Even driving full range, non powered tower speakers... this amps got plenty left!

Weakness:

So heavy that shipping costs are expensive. Power cord plug requires goofy 20 amp outlet.

If you are looking for a powerful, 5 channel, sub $2K amp... look no further!

Strength:

Has 250 watts of conservative rated FTC power per five channels at 8 ohms. with all channels driven simultaneously.EIA power is 330 watts at 8 ohms and 500 watts at 4 ohms. This amp is very well designed and Built like a TANK weighing in at 106 lbs. This amp was design with performance in mind. All channels are are completly seperate and easily accessible and removable for servicing in the unlikely event this should happen.Full 7 year parts and labor warranty.

Weakness:

Very heavy and not very portable.I built a funiture dolly to move it around.

I like this amp so much I Bought another one. This amp out performs any other amp I have ever owned in probably every way.The bass output is very tight and defined. In fact the bass output of this amp exceeds any other amp I have ever owned in spades. What really amazes me is,it pumps out more bass without working my bass drivers as hard. This amp Takes a tight grip and totaly controls the drivers motion. This must be relative to the amps damping factor Greater than 1,000 from 10 hz to 400 hz.The midrange is very smooth detailed and natural sounding not to forget to mention that the soundstage is larger and deeper than with any of my other amps.Stereo imaging sounds to be spot on.The High Frequencies are also superb, very natural.I could go on and on but why bother ,I all ready have Two of these and they will undoubtably be the last amps I own unless I win the LOTTO!This amp might not be a quite as good as a Krell but the differences is are minor.Unless you have a lot of money to "BLOW" on those big FANCY LOOKING megabuck amps,I would highly recommend this amp over almost any thing costing twice as much,PERIOD!Of coarse only Krells,Sonic Frotiers,Mark Levinson,Conrad Johnson, ect.deserve Five Star Ratings but then again they can't compete price wise.So therfore I give this AT2505 Five Star fore it's price performance catagory.

Nothing better for the money, Home Theater or Audiophile! One of the best buys in the world!! As of this date there are no reviews on this amp yet. When the first does hit the newsstand, the audio world will discover how much this 110 pound monster really puts out. Stay tuned!

Brute Force? Yeah, you bet! Finesse? I don't think so (auditioned with NHT 3.3 speakers, which are, admitedly, brutally revealing of any flaw). Yet the ATI 2505 is a honest amp for the money.
At a higher level of performance (and expenditure, too), you may look at sonic gems such as Aragon 8008X3, Bryston 7B, Citation 7.1, and Proceed HPA3.

Yeah its big,its on the heavy side.Build quality is good, looks ok.Sound hmmmmgood but not great or out of this world as some claim. For blast-a-ton home theater setup it is great, for music its alright.Value 3/5 the small ATI amps are better for the price(1502,1505 and 1506)

Strength:

Build Quality, Power, Clarity etc...

Weakness:

Extremely dependent on high-end cables, weighs a ton, requires 20 amp circuit

Just got my 2505 this weekend and let me tell you WOW! Went from a Denon Receiver(finally got rid of it) to this and the Sherwood Newcastle preamp (that will only stay for a short while).

The biggest thing with this amp is the 20 amp circuit. I compared side by side the 1505 and the 2505 on a 15 amp circuit and could tell some difference but not a whole lot. After plugging the 2505 into a 20 amp circuit, WOW, everything snapped into place, the grain I heard in the treble disappeared, the bass tightened and became quite a bit stronger and the soundstage grew tremendously. The minute we switched to the 20 amp, I fell in love with this amp.

Also, do not use bass poor cables with this amp. I strongly reccomend Audioquest Ruby or higher with this amp.

I give it 4 stars simply because Krell and Bryston take 5 stars

Strength:

Oh so lifelike!

Weakness:

???

Each day I experience a new, higher level of sonic bliss listening to music through this amp. All my 500+ CD's are now brand new again... for I'm just now really hearing them for the first time now with this incredible and highly accurate piece of equipment. Now I know what "soundstage" really means! I never knew music could sound this good without hiring the band to play in your living room.

Compared it against a Carver 705x THX 5-ch. amp... HAHAHA ... no contest! Even though I went in thinking the Carver would sound better, the ATI BLEW IT AWAY!!!

Got this used (9 months old) on ebay for $1300... total bargain!!! Current retail is $2795. More info at www.ati-amp.com

I'd write more, but I've gotta get back to listening to my ATI amp!

WARNING: This amp will sound so good that you will find yourself calling in "sick" to work. This amp could potentailly cause you to lose your job (ahh... but what a way to go!).

Strength:

Excellent imaging and soundstage. Excellent Quality, Excellent overall performance

Weakness:

Incredibly Heavy

This amplifier exceeded my expectations. Immediatly I noticed a more natural and larger sound stage. This amplifier is very nuetral and pure in its music reproduction. The better the recording is, the better the sound gets. The 2505 seems to have no limits aside from source media. This is the first amplifier that has ever driven my Theil CS7 speakers effortlessly. Home Theater using the AT2505 amplifier ROCKS!! Any one who has heard this peice of equipment at my house, either listening to music or watching a movie has been blown away.

Thanks ATI for making a truely great affordable amp!

I have had the ATI 2505 for about a month now and find it to be truely outstanding. This amp has so much power and depth that it has to be heard to be fully understood. I used to own it's little brother the 1505, which I thought was a superb amp, but the 2505 is all of that x 2. The bottom end of the amp is tight and deep. Where the 1505 was a little shakey in the low mid bass the 2505 shines like a new penny. The sound stage is huge and makes you feel like your right there in person. What I really love is the midrange of this amp. Piano's sound like they are being played live in your home. Vocals, both male an female are sweet and accurate. Although it could be my Legacy Sig III's that help out with the midrange, this amp seems to add to the pleasure of listening to them. As far as home theater goes, this amp explodes, shatters glass and tears through your living room like an F5 tornado. I've owned several diffrent amps in the past including: Chiro, Parasound, Carver, Marantz and countless others. This amp is dollar for watt the best deal out there and sounds better than any other mid HiFi amp on the market.
