In answer to the previous posting on 800VA power supply - The average continious power that the Arcam 10 will actaully use is around 500 VA (watts) and this is inline with the onboard fuse rating of 2.5 amps X 230/240 V or 4 amps X 115/125V. The secret is that the overly big power transformer has plenty of headroom to accomodate any brief spikes of power encountered without clipping or distortion as maybe encountered on other competitors designs. This is why it sounds more powerful in practice. Especially noticable on heavy bass tracks! Over sized power supplies designs have been proven to give a better sounding amp which is now common place on UK mainstream amp offerings from the likes of Sony (UK reworked models) and Rotel as well as Arcam. Hope this helps answer the question.
