Strength:

sound quality, power, versatility with auto digital read and switching rxv402 model....

Weakness:

absolutely none

yahama has produced the ultimately perfect entry level digital reciever. it was easy to connect, set up and use. The sound drives my studio 138 wharfedale mains and center with plenty of power to spare. It has earth shattering dynamics highs and lows. Don't be mis-lead by the 65 watt per channel...it is discrete and will blow away much more powerful cheaper stuff. If you want quality in a plain wrapper that includes DTS, Dolby, with auto switching and read BUY THIS UNIT!!!!!!

I brought a R-V 503 about 6 months ago from Best Buy for $299 I have been real happy with this unit, the sound is so
natural sounding I really like to lessen to it a lot and the remote control works my tape deck and CD player YAMAHA
also. The FM is very good and the CD are great. It drives
my Definitive Technology DR-7 Speakers easily. I have had
two friends go out and buy the R-V 503 after hearing my
system from Best Buy for $240 on sale. I had a RX770 from
YAMAHA before I brought the R-V 503. The 503 is a better
match for my speakers.
