I picked up my RX-V2095 about two weeks ago and have greatly enjoyed every aspect of it. At first the remote was a little hard to get used to but after about an hour of pushing buttons and seeing what happens it became second nature. And the sound!! Previously to buying the Yamaha I was employing an old mid range Sony Pro-Logic reciever that was clearly underpowered when it was hooked up to my DVD Player. Wow! What an improvment over the Sony and Pro-Logic, AC3 and the Yamaha is. The sound clarity of the digital soundtrack over the analog is unbelievable and a pure delight to listen to. I put on The Mask of Zorro DVD and a times I felt I had to duck during the sword fight scences and the explosion near the end you can really feel the subwoofer has it's own dedicated channel when it kicks in. My speakers are Paradigm Mini-Monitors for fronts and rears, a Paradigm CC-350 Center, and Paradigm PS-1000 subwoofer, though since picking up the Yamaha I am seriously thinking about picking up some tower speakers for my fronts. The DVD player is a Sony DVP-S500D. Since the reciever has a DTS decoder and I did not want to wait until next year to hear how a DTS track sounded, I went out and picked up the Eagles: Hell Freezes Over DTS Music CD. Again, Wow! I felt like I was sitting in the front row of the actual concert! The instruments each seemed to have their own speaker but still blended together seemlessly. Excellent, excellent sound. Another DVD to try if you really want to hear the benefits of AC3 is the IMAX film Super Speedway. You feel like you're sitting in the cockpit. One minus that I can think of is that the reciever does not have a digital RF input for those people who have a laserdisc player but I do not have a laserdisc player so this has no bearing on myself. To finish, I highly recommend this Yamaha to anyone who is looking for a high quality, excellent sounding reciever that will be viable for years to come. (Thanks to its external 6 channel inputs) |

I absolutely love this receiver. I have only had it for about 10 days, but I have already had the chance to check out most of the features. I never thought I would actually prefer watching movies in an enhanced DSP mode... but I do! |

I was able to demo the Yamaha V2095 when I was in New York last week. . I have owned Yamaha equipment for 15 years and still own a DSP-50 the original surround sound system. I am certain I will be making my purchase in the very near future. I had purchased the DSP-1 last year, but returned it after two weeks because I was so underwhelmed in a lot of things it did not provide. The DSP-1 remote control would not work with my Yamaha Tuner’s remote control circuits and the amp would only output s-video or composite video which made the use of this system as a Audio/Video center useless, if I were to continue to use my VCR with plain ole composite video. I was told I could get a device to simulate a s-video input from my VCR, but come on Yamaha for $2.600.00 it should already have done that. I was also told I could use the DSP-1 for controlling a different output to another room. I think they were thinking what they were going to do, not what it did do. |

I had this DD/dts receiver for only a few days, but it's one of the best sounding receivers I've heard for the price range. It makes even Pro-Logic encoded movies sound great. It has a lot more features than the V2092 (more digital inputs, ext decoder inputs, dts, etc.), which I almost brought home instead, for a few dollars less. |

About 5 months ago i was interested in upgrading from my Yamaha 690 which was Pro Logic. I looked at the 793, 993 and then the 2092. I felt the 2092 was the key to get as professional as i could afford. I held out and finally settled on the 2095. The reciever is excellent. Before I even touch on the sound I have to comment on the look. Incredible! At first i had this reciever temporarily hooked up to a set of bose pieces of junk. Finally, when my finances permitted, I bought some Definitive Technology BP 2002's. Wow!!! Sounds amazing. I finally have a system that sounds as if it was the high end system you'd see set aside in a store. I sampled only a few other recievers so I can't say that this is the only reciever to buy. But I haven't found a single con and I love the sound. Thats good enough for me. check this model out! It should impress you. |

CAUTION:Do not play the 2095 at a loud volume and then turn the system off using the remote. My speakers are near the receiver. The next day I turned the system on without the remote and nearly had a heart attack. What I mean to say is this bad boy really kicks! I've had it for 4 weeks. Paid $1,250 from ABC. They did fine, However it took 2 weeks to receive. It is hooked up to 2 NHT VT-2 and 3 NHT VS-2a. Woww!!!! I've seen a number of comments regarding the remote. I agree that it is complex, but feel the comments are overstated. This receiver has a lot of capabilities and complexity and sophistication are many times intertwined. If you want something simple buy an Aiwa. |

Easy to understand, great power and worth every penny. Yamaha makes equipement as solid as can be. Love the DSP modes and dual room function. The power is quite an improvement over my 590. AC-3 is so beautiful.... |

I am very interested to buy this model within next week, but could not find a safe, honest, and low price place to buy it. Would you please to give me some suggestions on which mail order or online order companies offer good deal for this product ? BTW, what's the fare price for it ? |
