This unit has a great amp! Plenty of digital inputs. Typical Yamaha quality.

Remote is dificult to learn at first and is not backlit. No component video in/out.

I wanted to find an A/V receiver under $500 that rocks, and this one fits the bill. Binding post for all the speakers, S-video on all the A/V inputs (on the front too!), plenty of digital audio inputs, and an amp that pumps. This has been a fantastic addition to my home theater system. If you want top quality stereo performance and dolby digital(AC3) suround the 5250 is a tremendous value for the price.
