Have had my EX700 for almost a year. Use the built-in subwoofer amp to drive an old bass cabinet (2 x 15" woofers). The built-in subwoofer amp was the one of the reasons I chose this receiver over others in the same price range. Receiver also offers above average power that belies its low price. Can play loud and clean. Able to drive mains at 4 ohms (stable). Decent bass extension, but treble can be fatiguing at loud levels. Better to mate with warm to neutral speakers. Pro logic decoding is fair to good -- typical of receivers in this price class. FM tuner is only fair. Though mainstream in build quality, Technics circuitry should be better than other receivers in similar price range. Reliability should also be better than average. Limited flexibility on back. No S-VHS jacks or main amp in. Don't care much for the spring (speaker) clips. Have enjoyed using this receiver for the past year and will probably use it for another year or so before moving on to AC-3 and DTS. It's a good receiver for the money, but in hindsight, would have preferred to have paid a little more for a lower end Yamaha, even though the Yamaha would have given me less useable power. But no regrets...Score: 3.5
