Strength:

Great Looks, Cool remote (not hard to use at all and is fully programable), The simplest reciever to use, clean power, soundfields sound very natural not fake! VERY RELIABLE! Alot of RCA inputs for the $$$.

Weakness:

Get hot easy, makes a slight scrathing noise when turning up the volume, no opticles, no bannana plugs,

I think for a reciever that costs only 300-400$ it is a steal. will definatly last you a long time and give you years of listning pleasure. the heating up really isn't a problem because it helps heat your house in the winter :) j/k. It's good thats all i need to say.

Similar Products Used:

sony str-de675, sony str-de835, many yamaha recievers and many technics recievers. tec. sucks but the yamaha is the cleanest. sony is alot more powerful that yamaha though.

Strength:

Versaltility, 5.1 sound

Weakness:

As far as I can tell no Digital inputs for DTS

USed this receiver for for almost two years and must say I am extremely impressed. Does a great job when hooked up to my DVD with the 5.1 input. I love the remote and have found it easy to use. The only complaint I have is the receivers ability to tune in to any of the local radio stations. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this receiver.

Much like the 615 this is a piece of shi*. The sound fields sound fake and it sounds like crap. The remote is made out to be all great, but it is very difficult to use. Not only that but it says it is programmable, it is pre-programmed for only a certain number of companies. The batteries run out faster than ones placed in a portable cd player if u are using it for all your components. It also gets very hot after only a short time of use. Of course the pro-logic sounds good, it has too. But I have to admit it is pretty powerful. I guess I'll give it a three:-(

Strength:

Excellent price, really cool remote, front a/v in

Weakness:

does get somewhat hot after a while

After reading the one review on this product, I felt I had to write my own brief one. This reciever is excellent and I've had no problems at all with it. The sound fields are all very good and movies sound great with the dolby prologic decoding. Hooking up an external dolby digital decoder is a breeze. I only have two real complaints about the model. It does seem to get hot after being left on for a while, and the remote control doesn't have the ability to learn from other remotes. This last feature would be extremely usefull and make the product almost perfect.

Strength:

Great Sound, Nice power distribution, Clean

Weakness:

Heat

After testing out this unit rigorously for little over a year, i have concluded that it is great. It's 5.1 inputs really shine when connected to an outboard decoder, and the various features are both intuitive and useful. The head does seem to build up though when used for an extended period of time, but that is to be expected i believe. Overall, a great unit.
