Strength:

the receiver has held up well throughout all the parties i have brought it too and just blasted the bejeezes out of it. strong to very strong bass, and treble depends on what speakers ya got. great remote, goes well with a sony trinitron tv, hit one button and you have tv control.

Weakness:

the rear surrounds sound kinda weak, even when cranked up to +10. there isnt a digital reading on the volume. the surround sound- every now and then it would quit. and only the right front would be engaged, but said on the unit that the surround was on. so i had to fiddle with it to get the surround back.

This receiver has held up well throughout all the parties i have brought it too, and hooked up a pair or two of big floors. my pair of boston acoustics speakers i got from my uncle and he had got them in like '86. had to replace the tweeters but after that.. was the most clear highs i had ever heard. i had to turn down the treble on the receiver otherwise it would hurt the ears. people in my house complain i have the music too loud and too bass-ey, i have had a great time with this thing.

Strength:

low cost, decent power

Weakness:

all sound cuts out sometimes at high volume with my speakers and this receiver

worked good for the stereo I used up at college, puts out nice sound quality for the price. Only problem I ever had was when I upgraded my speakers (from custom made ones to Klipsch KLF-10's) it would cut out at higher volumes sometimes. The surround mode was ok, nothing grand, but worked well enough for me

I purchased this unit for $160. The Dolby Surround is good. I wish it had a subwoofer output. CDs and FM sound good. It's good receiver, but not a great receiver. I had trouble fitting my speaker wire into the terminals. I'm not sure, but I think their speaker terminals are smaller than normal.

Strength:

Price. Brought used for $100.

Weakness:

None yet.

I just got this reciever and I have it set up in my room pushing a pair of Bose 302's, and two Bose monitor speakers. I'm happy with the sound. I think the remote could be better. For my room this is all the sound I need.

Strength:

I paid a 139.96 for it, the original price was 250.00 at msp.

Weakness:

May not be the best product for someone who is deep in the money like the other guy here who seems to find every thing wrong.

Sounds great and works great for my bed room. Since there are thirty station presets is there really a reason to want to be able to scan stations from the remote. Compatible with most all product add ons. Dobly and surround work great for the price. 5 a/v. Several presets. Regardless of what the other guy says I think this is a great stereo. It has more than covered my needs.
