This unit has been with me for about a month, and I''m still breaking it in, so I don''t feel that it''s time for me to give it a proper review. This post is to indicate the poor reliablity of this unit. The unit refuses to power up because it''s faulty protection circuit is lit up. It believes there is a short circuit when there is none. It''s still under warranty, so I''ll see what the techs can do to repair it. Hopefully I''ll be back to give a more extensive review.

Lots of features. Six channel power and interactive on-screen displays. Lots of inputs. Clean good looks w/ aluminum chassis.

Should be DTS-ES instead of 6.1. THX would be nice. Seven channel power and decoding is better than six.

After using the DB1070 for over 6 months I have decided I am pleased, but not ecstatic about my purchase. I like the sound quality and features but feel this unit needs to be DTS-ES and THX Select (at a minimum) to be a better unit. Seven-channel power would also put this unit over the top.

Have had this unit for less than 6 weeks and have had nothing but trouble with the dvd playback. If fails to decode dts dvd''s and playsback without sound. As far as the stereo, weak bass and under powered. I will be returning this in the morning and most likely buy an Onkyo TX-DS797

Red book cd playback: somewhat soft hazy sonics.

This Sony Receiver has many features for the price & well do very well in most A/V systems but I woulndn''t recommend it as a great music-only amp. If you use Sony receivers I would step up to their ES line which has greater overall sonics. Also try Marantz, NAD, Denon etc.
