Strength:

Plenty of power, clarity. DTS, 6.1 surround, great price.

Weakness:

Annoying delay when switching sources.

The Outlaw receiver compares very favorably with the Yamaha at significantly less expense. The 65 w/channel is plenty of power as compared to the 110 w/channel Yamaha plus the Outlaw has DTS and 6.1 surround mode. I considered much more expensive separates, but after reading favorable reviews in AR I thought I would give it a try, and I have not been disappointed. The Outlaw has brought new life to my M&K speaker system, and with a powered sub, the wattage is more than sufficient. I have yet to reach a volume level that has created any discernible hiss.
This unit performs like a much more expensive receiver. The build quality is excellent. The egonomics of the remote could be better, but I'm getting used to it. (Really like the backlight feature).
If your budget is limited and you want a product that has most of the feature/functionality of much more expensive units, give the Outlaw a try. I have not had to call their C/S, but the Sales area deilvered as promised and on time. They certainly value their customer relationships.
