Strength:

its awesome. but if you must know the sud preout bass is its best strenght its like at the movies. i have m&k 750 thx sets of 5.1 speakers witch are better than the nad760 and i have found out that the only problem is with the rear speakers. it just dosent envellope me as it does at the theatres. the problem is also with the vertical sound it dosent envelope vertically as it does horizontally i dunno why. so i i stand up for example bang less the surround sound. maybe when nad comes up with a thx receiver in bout 5 years that might fix the problem. you see boys and girls its no longer a problem of sound quality but how much sourround and positionning and images you actually get outa your receiver. with nad receivers you get a bit of all of them. but more surround than positionning. sound positionning is very expensive. it takes the nads170 to get you there and that guy cost a woudle of money. and thats only the preamp. but in 5 years it''''ll all be there for us. the sound is better if i lower the front speakers and put the rear ones at max output. thats for listening to movies. as for listening to cd well i turn of the center speaker and listen to music in 4.1 instead of 5.1 and v

Weakness:

remote control but if you buy the cinema7 one for all remote control all your remote control problems will go away for 20 bucks.ive got all the codes for the nad760.

its awesome. and the good news is in 5 to 10 years receivers will be so performant it wont matter no more to compare it to anything else. so the nad760 is the perfect buy for the next 5 years of your life. the most important thing is the clarity of the sound i think. and nad 760 well its close. but each receiver and each different technologies has its own different configuration. if you take the sound of running water for example in a little river the closer you get to it the more you get envellope by the sound. thats very hard to reproduce perfectly. and a speaker is artificial sound is it not? so wtf its gonna take a while before we can no longer see the difference between the real thing and the sound coming from a speaker. a long time. but in the meanwhile the nad760 is as close as your gonna get to it without having to morgage your house to get a good sound system (lol lol lol lol).

I love the sound from this receiver but the quality has really stunk. I lost the center channel amp after I first got it and it took quite a while to get fixed. Now the pre-sets and set-up won''t stay saved for very long. A real hassle. I am very dissappointed in this product and would stay away from NAD in the future.

Strength:

Very good sound in middle volume level.
I think, that all NAD models have a great amount of power in reserve.

Weakness:

I hear a humles noise in all speakers if I connect for audio input coaksial kable. If for audio input use optical kable, the humles is less.

all NAD receivers and amplifiers are very good to hear in mid frequencies (vocal). You can hear all colour of voice.
Before this receiver I had amplifier t750 and I was very happy eith it. Now I have T760 with DTS. Listening DTS or dolby digital 5.1 is like see sun or night (for me).
This I hear in DVD-s of Eagles,Divas live, Bee Gees...
Some my friends told me that onkyo 676 sound much better that NAD T760. I do not believe.
Please, if someone read my rewiew, answere me about this:
is onkyo receiver 676 (with dolby digital and DTS)better than NAD T760.
The price is very close each other.

Strength:

Fantastic imaging and soundstage. Simply incredible in stereo mode. Manages to be warm and rich, and still detailed and clear.

Weakness:

Design could be better, but not so important for me.

I had heard a lot of good things about this reciever, but was a bit put off by the looks. I decided to audition it after testing the Denon(read review), and I didn't regret it. It simply blew me away. The depth, imaging and sound stage were many times better than my old integrated amp, a Denon PMA-915R. It was also a lot better than the AVR-2800 (which is almost $200 more here). Dolby Digital and dts was very good too. I could easily follow bullets flying across the room etc. Very detailed. Initially I was a bit worried about the power rating, as my integrated amp is rated at 80W in 8 ohms. However there was nothing to worry about. The T760 had more than enough power to make my room fall apart, without sounding stressed.

Conclusion: An incredible A/V reciever...Try it out!

Strength:

Great soundstage and imaging, quality build, focus on important pieces, not frills

Weakness:

Switch over delay from source to source (a couple of seconds, no biggie).

This is a great amp. Very natural sounding, and works great in conjunction with my Paradigm 60's. I read about the problems with the decoder but most of those have been fixed in new parts for newly manufactured pieces.

Soundstage and imaging are very impressive.

This is a "music first" amp, absolutely. But since I play about 30 cd's to one 1 dvd, that is what I am looking for. Check it out if you have that is your focus also.

Strength:

Incredible punch and clarity for all music.
Excellent value.

Weakness:

Poor bass management options... no sub option for stereo only.

Amazing imaging and clarity even at high volumes.
Smooth fluid sound but still retains detail.
Digital decoding as clean and realistic as can be.
EARS ambiance is acutally very listenable. A truly useful DSP mode. Plenty of punch even with it's 60w rating.

Poor bass management facilities. Finiky remote, slow response. No component video input and output. Only one optical link. No option to turn off display.

Great reciever. Missing some minor features that would make it perfect. Still an excellent value due to above average performance.

Strength:

Great sound, design, all you need for 5.1 Movies without loosing music abality.

Weakness:

Lack of inputs, manual hard to read, time delay in milsec.

After doing months of research and choosing the speaker set up that met the requirements for my room (see paradigm monitor 7 review) I choose the NAD T760 for the simple reason that it did what I wanted it to do with the least amount of hassel. I am not one for gimmics and processed surround settings that I will never use. The NAD T760 has Dolby Digital as well as DTS and what they call EARS for ambient processing. This is an excellent receiver for Music an Movies there are things one can nitpick (see other reviews) but that is being hyper critical, I do not need the sub in stereo mode as I have a small room, but I can see why some would want that feature. Like all things in the audio world it is a matter of personal choice the NAD T760 is my choice for a all around excelent well built receiver that does what is importnat it sounds great in both music and movies with out the falshing lights of hype.

All in all a great product.

Strength:

Very natural sound in stereo, superb dd and dts decoding

Weakness:

that ugly and stupid remote

the nad is my first av reciever, and it was quite a surprise that it even sounded better in stereo than my stereo amplifier did, so all i can say is that the NAD will never let you down

Strength:

The sound, both in stereo and HT mode.

Weakness:

The OSD menu. Can't seems to use other then the preset modes for speakersize and subwoofer. Other than that, none.

I was amazed by the sound. Ok, so I love NAD ever since i bought my NAD 310. My Celestion 15 speakers have never sounded this good. Seems like it's time to upgrade my speaker cables too. The sound has lots of bass, although not lacking in clarity or depth. I've listened to a couple o f HT recievers from Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer and Sony, but they didn't sound this good. If I had had the money I would have bought the Harman Kardon AVR7000, but it costs twice as much in Sweden. But I'm glad i bought the NAD 760, for that kind of money, it's sound is absolutely great.

Strength:

Beautiful!(IMHO) No BS features, just a quality amp that happens to have DTS

Weakness:

Lack of inputs

Stepping up from japanese audio to this was the best decision I have ever made in reguards to my audio equipment. The sound from this thing for music rivals that of tube-amp for flatness of range, its not bright or boomy. The HT isn't that bad either, though I have to admit I have trouble telling a difference between HT recievers.
I like quadraphonic sound which manufacturers phased out 10 years ago, so what I did is, in addition to using an optical digital cable to hook up the DVD-Player for 2 channel music, is hook 2 Y adapters up to the RCA jack outs on the DVD player and run the now 4(2L, 2R) RCA cables to the 5.1 inputs on the NAD. Its AWESOME! way better than these DSP created 5 channel stereos like EARS. I highly recommend it. I also have the sub hooked to the front preamp outs to have it active in music, otherwise it's off.
