Strength:
The sound is excellent and I feel it was a good deal for the money
Weakness:
Could be a litte more powerful. The programming of the remote could be much simpler I happy with this reciever it has very good sound. Dollar for Dollar this was a good buy probably if to do it over would have spent the extra $500 for the SR8000. |

Strength:
excellent build w/ a simple, elegant interface. No worries here for me. Awesome tuner, A/V conveniences, power and input/output selection for the money. Nice warranty too.
Weakness:
The remote screen should have been backlit, but i suppose battery life would be compromised. Awesome with Magnaplanars. (MG-IC) Similar Products Used: Acoustic Research X-06, marantz SR 4000. (I traded in for the 7000 immediately. |

Strength:
exeptionnal 2 channels stereo, built quality, many features, remote, nothing beat's it for the price.
Weakness:
- none for the money If you're a music lover and you like natural sounds, this is the number one choice. For home theater, you have all the decoders, except the DTS ES but you know there isn't lots of movies recorded in dts-es. This amp has an audiophile quality sound, music players will love it. Similar Products Used: Arcam, Denon, Harman Kardon |

Strength:

Strength:
Power , Ease of use , Amazing home theater response!!!
Weakness:
NONE This receiver is definatly worth the money! I was amazed that a integrated receiver could produce the power & quality sound stage that this does "almost tube like warm sound". The home theater mode playes movie soundtracks with authority and will keep you on the edge of your seat!! 5 STAR Performance!!! |

For the money, you cannot do any better. The power and flexibility of this unit is second to none.
Weakness:
However I will concede this point the remote and the manual suck! I have been coming back to this site from time to time to see what other people have been saying about this reciever. To tell you the truth, you guys that have been ragging on it, DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU"RE TALKING ABOUT!! Think about it,you are pissed that it is not THX certified, and it's not 7.1, it's too warm on bass,or that it doesn't component switching. Get a grip. How much do you think you're going to get for $750 or less. I tried every unit I listed above in the $600 to $1200 range. Sure at $1200 I can get one to wipe my ass while I watch a movie or listen to music. But like I said before this unit rocks for the money. This criticism is not for the guys that had bad units out of the box. The other thing is that makes or breaks a reciever is the type of speakers that you use. Klipsch's are hard and top heavy. Polk's just suck. Paradigm's are fluent, warm and smooth. B+W need lots of power to make them what they are. Get the picture.I am by no means an audio professor but I am very informed about the characteristics of speakers that are made by the various manufacturers.
