Strength:
Power!!!! Clarity...brings out all the sound that I never had with my previous receiver. Nice.... very nice
Weakness:
uh..uhhh...None yet...oh..almost broke my back lifting it..but so does every good audio component out there. WOW..what can I say. First of all I would like to thank everyone here for the great reviews. Without you guys, I would have bought a Sony (boy would I kick myself in the *%&). After listening to my Sony Pro Logic for 5 years, I decided to upgrade to Digital. Thanks to the great reviews, I went with the avr-3300. The installation was a snap (child's play). The instruction was not that hard as some claimed (open your eyes and read!). But I must admit, the remote is a pain in the ass. I don't know what the hell I'm doing with it. All I know is the volume adjustment. Minor price to pay for the great sound. Now I find myself buying every DVD out there. Time to show-off my new toy. Talk about Theater experience. I'm gonna start charging admission :). My sets are all Klipsch Ref. Serious. Oh my, KICKASS System. Thanks DENON!!! Similar Products Used: Sony, Yamaha 995 |

Strength:
Reliable, Does what its supposed to do deliver great sound musically and in movies.
Weakness:
None It is too bad the forum has degenerated into people using for their infantile amusement rather than a reliable source of information. I have had this unit for over a year and all it does is deliver fabulous performance at all times. During quiet scenes the room is silent both a testament to its cooling ability and its clean sound. If you get a lemon take it back and try not to condemn the model. In other words, give us your informed opinion and not just any opinion. Similar Products Used: Pioneer Elite |

Strength:
LOts of features, excellent DD and DTS. Fully upgradeable.
Weakness:
none. I don't know what the hell everyone in this forum is talking about, My 3300 does not make any fan noises. As far as it running warm, That's normal in any electrical device. Some of you guys are too damn picky. Do you really believe that the thing is supposed to stay cold if your using for over an hour or so. Give me a break, get a damn life. All the inputs you would ever need, build quality and power
Weakness:
remote First off I would like to say that I have had no overheating problems with this unit. I've noticed that most people who have had problems ordered from the internet. Do yourself a favor, go down to your LOCAL stereo hi-fi shop and buy your next piece of equipment from a lisenced dealer who will stand behind the products that they sell. After reading the reviews on this sight I was a bit concerned about buying the Denon. I confronted Gary at Rocky Mtn. Hi Fi and he assured me he hasn't had one Denon 3300 returned. He said if I had problems he would do what ever it would take to correct the problem. I bought this unit as a Christmas present for my wife (lucky for me she loves this stuff)anyway I wanted to try it out before I gave it to her incase it overheated. I plugged it into my brothers system and cranked it. After about 15 minutes I could tell the fan came on. It didn't make a whine, in fact it did not make any noise at all. I could feel the air exhausting from the top of the unit. I let the Denon play for another 2 hours with out any problem at all. This unit is unique in the way the fan is set up. As you turn up the volume the speed of the fan will increase, this way it cools as it is needed without making any excessive noise. As far as the sound is concerned, one word, superb. This is one of the nicest sounding receivers I have heard for the price. To many extras to list, this is a great receiver. Don't let all the negative reviews on this sight deter you from owning a great sounding receiver. I have spent many hours listening to this receiver and I have yet to be disappointed. This receiver keeps getting better the more I hear it. I give this receiver 5 stars all the way around. Oh yeah I couldn't wait till Christmas, I gave it to my wife early. She loves it!!! this unit did not perform well with my A/D/S cm-7 4 ohm loud speakers. It would go into protection mode with moderate volume. 8ohm speakers are my recomendation superb sound for middle of the road cost. Similar Products Used: yamaha rxv995 |

Strength:
Excellent onscreen menus, superb sound, buckets of power
Weakness:
Manual needs a re-write and needs an optical output The Denon 3300 is a very nice piece of audio equipment. The hookups are easy. Forget reading the manual. The sound is excellent. I have them hooked to POLK audios all the way around. Movies are simply amazing. The unit has the power to reproduce the most demanding movies. The 5 speaker stereo is excellent. I suggust using only quality speakers for this unit. Also, use only high gauge wire (12 or lower). |
