Been listening to mine for about 3weeks now and couldn't be more pleased. Sounds great for the money. I like the 5 channel stereo mode. Gotta give it 5 stars.

I purchased my AVR-2700 in mid December (a pre Christmas gift to myself). I havebeen out of the Audiophile world for about 15 years. The Denon replaced a
tired but faithful NAD Integrated Amp.
Based on my research on the Web and talking to friends, I narrowed my choice
to the Denon AVR-2700 and Yamaha 795.
I was able to sit and listen to an A/B comparison of the 2. Although the 795
was a brand new product and had dozens(?) of DSP settings, I found the sound to
be overly bright when compared to the Denon.
I ended up purchasing the Denon as my first step into slowly building a Music/HT
centre.
When I hooked up the Denon to my PSB Alpha's, I could NOT believe my ears!!
The detail and image of the music was amazing.
I must admit that the only disadvantage of the Denon is how bad it makes my
other components sound - Time to invest in a New CD Player, potentially 4
more speakers (LF,RF,Centre, & Sub)
As you can probably tell, I am more than pleased with the Denon, and would
recommend it to anyone.

Just bought my first home theater system. Auditioned many receivers (Yamaha, Nakamichi, Denon, Onkyo, Marantz, Sherwood) and speakers before getting what I have right now (AVR-3600 DTS). In this price range, I would pick Denon over other brands. (Many people would prefer Yamaha, but I found the sound a little too bright.) For the same amount of money, I would go for AVR-3200. I compared these 2 receivers side-by-side, and noticed the sound of AVR-3200 is indeed better. Still, AVR-2700 is a strong candidate among other receivers in this price range.

I highly recommend this receiver. It's a lot better then my old Sony. It sounds great and has tons of features. It has S-video inputs, tape monitor, and 3 digital inputs. All very important to me. One feature I really like is 5 Ch. Stereo. When I turn this feature on my music sounds awesome.

This is the best all around receiver I have had in the 25 or so years I have been listening to music. I compared it side by side with a couple of other brands and knew as soon as I heard it.This was it.It has a warm, rich, full sound that I have not heard from any other in a long time.I found the setup options a breeze to use and don't even mind the remote.Surround sound in both dolby digital and dolby surround are better than I ever thought possible. But what really got me was how wonderful it made music sound in stereo mode. The Denon avr2700 reminds me very much of a couple of Luxman stereo receivers I owned and still regret selling some 15-20 years ago. A friend of mine still has one, which he will not part with,so I still get to listen from time to time. In my opinion, what makes this Denon so good is that it combines the best of both worlds for home theater and music listening. And to ME, it does both better than anything I've heard in its price range or anywhere near it.

No Surprises here. This is a great sounding receiver. I've found it to be well made and the performance is solid. On screen programming is a nice feature. Yamaha has more DSP modes, if that is important to you take a look at one of their models, otherwise I think you'll be very happy with this.

I have had this receiver for around 6 months. I like it but have noticed that with DVDs I have to crank the sound to hear voices. This could have something to do with the NHT superones being less effecient than most speakers. I love the 5 channel surround sound for music. Genneraly a good receiver.

Recently purchased the Denon AVR2700 {dealer says AVR95 is the new model number}very nice sound and easy set-up. Voices on movie soundtracks come through crystal clear.Surrouns sound is fantastic. Five channel stereo is the way to go for music. Speakeres are...
Klipsh Synergy series:
Fronts-KSB 3.1 on stands
Center-KC1
Rears- KSB 2.1 on stands
Sub- KSW 12

I also like the ability to upgrade to a better stereo amp and use the Denon as a pre-amp.

Great receiver; I think shoppers will be hard-pressed to find better value for under 800 bucks!!!
I STRONGLY agree with what other owners have stated on this page: take the time to read the owner's manual. You'll reap the benefits from this quality component much sooner if you do.

Movies sound OK, but I REALLY like the 5-channel stereo mode.

I have enjoyed my AVR2700 for two months now, playing a variety of movies using my Toshiba 2109 and Atlantic Technology 4.5 system. The receiver is very accommodating to all types of movies, from action to musicals, and the dolby digital imaging is superb. The front channel sound is crisp and easy-to-understand. No problem with bass because I have a powered subwoofer, which is a must for any home theater system. I also enjoy the 5 channel mode for regular TV/cable! The remote is workable. Great price (less than $550) for a great receiver that's upgradeable to DTS.
