I bought the Aiwa´s home pack wich comes with this receiver, 5 spearker and a subwoofer.
To people that don´t need sound quality and power, it´s a good idea.

Strength:

lots of inputs, built in DD decoder

Weakness:

only 70 watts per channel, bad remote control

Good amp for the low end surround sound system...I have it hooked up with Klipsch Quintet 200 speakers (U-Bid $49.00) and KLH sub. It sounds decent, but lacks power. Using the remote to change setting requires reading the users manual again and again...I have 2 sets of speakers hooked up and even when you turn off set A and turn on set B, you still hear the rear satellites from the set A...

Strength:

Many useful connections. Has a Video 1 and 2, and the AUX has a video in. Low Price, Decent quality

Weakness:

Not the best sound quality, subwoofer on sets the crossover way too high on speakers

Well I bought the whole theater system from best buy a while back, it has the 5 satellites and a sub. Well those speakers suck so bad. Quiet and sound horrible, even the sub. So I changed all the speakers. I use wharfedale bookshelfs with a KLH sub, and I thought it sounded good enough. But I could hear where the sub stopped workin and the speakers picked up. The crossover for the sub is at like 300 htz or something. But nevertheless. I saw one of the new pioneers for 200 bucks, so I got it and was blown away by the sound quality of it. It blends the sub much better with the speakers. The aiwa does have the T-Bass set to about 45htz which really thumps some bigger speakers pretty well. All round I think it's an excellent reciever and would sound a lot better with some smaller satellites on it. Despite the bad stuff, it's a good reciever, everything works great and I was happy with it for a long time. Was an excellent buy, except for the 3 1/2" satellites and the 40 watt sub. Great for people wanting to get rid of their little mini system for something bigger and better like I did.

Strength:

Excellent value for the money. Lots of audio video inputs [including front jacks]. Good access from remote.

Weakness:

No switched or unswitched outlets. Only one optical and one coaxle digital input. No bass or treble controls, only 5 DSP modes.

Great buy at $333.00 Canadian including 40 watt sub and 5 sattelites. Owned the receiver for about 2 months with no problems. Maybe a little underpowered, but with digital, and features included you can't go wrong. Has an amplified phono jack for all you vinyl lovers. Would highly recommend this amp for first time or buget minded persons getting into home theater.

Weakness:

Funky remote (shift key??), could use one more Link, not too powerfull.

For the price I got it for (subwoofer and 5 speakers included) it's a nifty little system. True, not as powerfull as others, but I live in an apartment and even this system can get too loud for the neighbors. Good subwoofer and great satalites. However, I hate the remote and thought it looked and felt very weak. So, I bought a universal to control it and it's much better. No more trying to press the shift key and another one to adjust output. So, if you live in an apartment and/or don't want to spend $600, this is right for you. And a DVD hooks up easily to it.

Strength:

I guess it makes noise.

Weakness:

Many

I don't know where they get that 350watt rating from but it definitely doens't sound like that. This receiver sort of sounds the way my Yamaha would sound if I drove a shovel through it.

Strength:

None, well I guess it is better than having nothing at all.

Weakness:

POOR QUAILITY construction, POOR QUALITY parts, POOR SOUND QUALITY, LACK OF desired features/functions, EVERYTHING IS WEAK ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ****YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR**** THAT IS WHY THIS RECIEVER IS LESS THAN $200.

If you have less than $200 to spend and sound quality is no concern to you at all than this is up your alley. If you want something good or even okay look elsewhere. I am not just talking sh!t... trust me.
