This review is for the NuForce AVP-17 processor. The price for this wonderful processor is $637.00, new! The performance to price ratio in off the charts, this processor is really great. I have owned a few processors over the years; Lexicon DC-1, Sunfire TG3, Outlaw 950, Tag McLaren, and the Emotiva MMC-1, which the AVP-17 replaced. The AVP is better than most of these processors. It does what you would expect for movies, and has 7.1 analog inputs. So if you have a Blu-ray player that has 7.1 outputs, you get the latest blu-ray audio.

But where the AVP really shines is 2-ch music. It has a bypass option which "minimizes the circuitry", but what is really nice about their bypass option is that it does so through the 2-channel analog inputs. So if you are using the 7.1 analog inputs for your blu-ray, you can still use the bypass option with your CD player. Also, the bypass keeps a subwoofer in the mix, which I really like. The bottom line, the sound is excellent! Very clean, detailed an open. There is no edge or congestion that you sometimes get with other processsors.

If you are looking for a great processor at a great price, check out the AVP-17. My only criticism would be the remote, its pretty basic, but at this price you really cannot complain.
