An unhappy EAD customer
an Audiophile

EAD produces a lovely product. Sonically it is excellent. Aesthetically it is a joy to behold.
However the person at EAD decided that it was a good idea to make a preamplifier that has no controls on the unit itself needs to see a good shrink!

I received my unit one week ago and was very happy until the remote control failed. After talking to EAD I learned that many (if not most) of the remotes it has been shipping fail in short order--and this is on a unit which can't work without a remote!!! They are currently shipping a rebadged Rotel unit.

The original shipment of my unit had been delayed several weeks because EAD did not have a working remote to send with it. Now the replacement remote (which was promised to be overnight shipped to me) is delayed.

This is a direct quote "We think we can find a remote that's working to send you." They're actually shipping a $3,000+ processor with a remote that fails the MAJORITY of the time--and again THIS PROCESSOR CANNOT BE USED WITHOUT A REMOTE.

Do not buy this product until EAD resolves the remote issue! EAD is managing to wreck a great product because of a lousy aftermarket remote and poor business decisions.

Strength:

Sound quality outstanding in 2 channel.

Weakness:

no front panel control. some people don't like it. i don't care because this unit is beautiful.

just a brief review with an update. AS a satisfied customer and a proud owner od ead, i wanted to let everybody know that ead has revised their theatermaster series reently. and the new one no longer has problem previously assoiciated with theatermaster. no more display whining, no more pops or click. The revise TM2k (theatermaster 2000) has new display with black background and blue lettering. high contrast and viewable from distance. this is the best display available currently. remote has also been replaced with a new one. half touchscreen and half buttons. better ergonomics. and retain the EAD famous high quality audiophile sound.
