What can I say more about this amp. Beautiful to look at. Unbelivable soundstage. Deep bass. Smooth midrange and crisp high but not hash. I have owned many different amps and for the monney, this amp is one of the best that you can buy. You can't go wrong with Mcintosh gears period.

This is the very first over 3,000 US$ amplifier I'd ever bought before I purchased Levinson 332. The thing was I loved Levinson name, and always do, it makes me somewhat close to being an audiophile, me thinking? But tell you what after I replaced my new Levinson in to system O.K. it sounds great it's just all those audiophile terminologies which all audiophile magazines always boast in their reviews. After a while it occurs to me that my old Mc provide me something that Levinson never gives me, and I don't think it could, it may sounds weird for someone who spent almost 9 grand for both amplifiers to say this, colouration, YES! you read it right,My old pal Mc gives me the kick that Levinson cannot and never will. Forget those cliche' audiophile talking, sometimes I don't need that neutrality and pinpoint soundstage it just bores me. I don't like sitting in front of my stereo system and force myself to listen only to Count Basie or Duke Ellington or any of those recommended classical recordings it just doesn't cut it for me sometimes. I need some things colorful but not too much to be irritating my ears I need something quick and swift to hit my hearing organs like those contemporary pop/rock kinda music, simply put something I don't have to bring out my ladder just to listen to. I missed my Mc. This is why I did not sell my old honest Mcintosh it may be inferior sonically to those big names in high end recognition but it works great and man! it never breaks, never once even in abusive hand like me. It gives you the music you don't have to pretend to like if you, like me, are not authentic audiophile who can even tell the difference whether singers lick her/his lower lip before sing out the "L" alphabet before "LOVE" or not, or if you sometimes don't give a damn what the undefied lower octave gonna cause you any damn obstacle to reach your musical enjoyment. Right now I am playing my system with both My old slave Mcintosh and my new boss Levinson depending on my mood at the time( lucky me that I did not sell my Mc right after I bought Levinson. One thing for sure that Levinson never beats my Mc, Down to Earth kinda music and the fun I could get from music from my old Mc.
