This is actually a CD transport and laser-disk transport. I used itas transport to drive my Theta Basic II processor.
At audition, I felt it had a very solid sense of rhythm and drive. And it
does. I later upgraded to a PDT3 transport. Over time I began to notice
that the T-7000 truncated the music. Perhaps it is a 16-bit machine, but whatever it is, there was no decay to the notes, no ambience at all. The PDT3
re-injected that element, although perhaps its sense of pace still does not
equal the T-7000, but then the T-7000 weights 40 pounds. This transport also
needs a jitter reduction device like an AA DTI Pro.
