Negatives:A.) Costs more than my G-lide watch, fer heaven's sake.
B.) Only available in black.
C.) Not for use with sharp-pointed metal cones. Sharp points will mar the clear plastic layer of The Pits
D.) What stupid, confusing product names!!!

Now that I've got that off my chest, let me tell you that this is the best, albeit most expensive, cone cup I have tried. It is much clearer than the Mk. 3 version. If you want a warmer-sounding cone cup, try out Golden Sound's DH Squares, at only US$10 each. As for The Pits Mk. 4, they universally produce tighter, more focused imaging; greater see-through transparency; less haze, which reveals more of the available detail; less smearing of transients, so the music starts, flows, and stops more precisely.

You can use The Pits Mk. 4 on their own, but they really tighten up the sound of whatever cone you use. And, isn't it better to scratch the Pits, rather than your rack, furniture, or shelf?

Due to the negatives listed above, I give BDR's The Pits Mk. 4 a four-and-a-half star overall rating.
