This review is for the Wharfedale Monitor 148. I''''ve had it only a day, but want to provide first impressions. Before I took them out of the box I thought they might be good for one of my kid''''s dorm rooms. Wrong. These are very solid, very attractive speakers with a very clear sound, rich and full. I was impressed by their solid construction and beautiful finish and grill. I''''m driving them with a HK AVR-85, and they can handle it with ease. Will burn them in for a bit, then come back with some more review. But first impression is that these are quality speakers, fit for a main room, at an unbelieveably low price of $138/pr.
