Price Paid:  $2295.00 from Audio Connection, Ve

Summary:
The CD31 is a basic CD player with a simple, understated design and very few bells and whistles. What it does deliver is superb performance. It extracts every bit of detail from a CD without giving it the bright, etched, overly-clear character that some other CD players impose. It gives a very smooth, natural, tonally accurate sound that in some respects comes close to that of fine vinyl. It's also attractively designed with clearly laid out, user-friendly controls, and very solidly constructed. The controls feel substantial and the CD drawer opens and closes smoothly and sounds solid. While it's not cheap, it sounds and feels more expensive than it is. It's an excellent value for the money and a great piece of equipment without reference to price. I recommend it highly.

Strengths:
Smooth, detailed, natural, musical sound. Attractive design and user-friendly controls. Very solid construction. Excellent value for money.

Weaknesses:
May be hard to find; Primare equipment doesn't seem to be very widely distributed. No other drawbacks that I can find.

Similar Products Used:
No exact equivalents. I've owned a Linn Classik one-box CD/Tuner/Amp combination and an old Philips CD player. I've auditioned CD players by Rega, Linn, Naim, and a few others.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
