$1100.00 Summary: This is a beautiful subwoofer, but beauty is only skin deep! Hooked up with a Bryston amp since could not get the LE-1 amp, a big mistake! Trouble with find a right crossover and integration with the speakers. Further, it sounds no better than a Velodyne HGS 18 or the REL Stadium III, in fact the velodyne has better slam than the Revel 15 and integrated with the speakers better as well. The REL on the other hand does not have the slame like the HGS 18 but bass extension is incredible. I figure that the reason the average performance of the Revel 15 is because the lack of the LE-1 amp. I don't think people realize how crucial the setting up of the subwoofer is until I personally experienced it. Without the LE-1 amp and its software, it is difficult to match with the speakers. If you get a great deal on the sub, which is about 1K, and match up with a good amp like a Bryston, it still is a average performer for the money. I think the Velodyne or the REL or the Revel B15 is a much better deal than the Revel 15 with an exteral amp and crossover. Overall a beautiful sub but only skin deep! Strengths: Very well built Weaknesses: Average performance compare with the Velodyne and REL Similar Products Used: B-15
