Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $5000.00 from Lisbon

Summary:
Having decided to upgrade my system, I considered the possibility to buy new speakers, among the following products: - Audiophysic Virgo III; JM Lab new Electra 926/936; Proac Future Point Five. It is not fair to say that one speaker is better than the other, but let me say that one fact became very clear from the test: - with my Audio Research LS 16 / Classic 60 amplification, the best marriage is with the Proac future point five. These speakers deliver music in its best, with a weight and on a scale quite out proportion to their volume. The ribbon tweeter produces an output of unsurpassed clarity and smothness. All the first class drive units of these speakers generate together a coherent, accurate and spacious imaging only comparable with much more expensive speakers. Go listen to the Proac Future point five, and don''t forget to wait for a break-in period of at least two weeks.

Strengths:
spacious imaging and overall sothness

Weaknesses:
none for its price

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $6000.00 from Stereo Exchange

Summary:
I only auditioned this speaker as it was out of my budget but as it is a new speaker I wanted to post in case people are interested. That being said I found this speaker to have all the qualities that the Nautilus has plus better bass extension. I was originally looking at the ProAc Response 2.5. But it did not have the open, smooth highs that the B&W Nautilus has. But the upper frequencies of the Future .5's are definitely in the ball park of the 804's. Perhaps the ribbon tweeter is even sweeter, smoother and more open. It also has the typical inviting sound that other ProAc's have. Meaning when turning up the volume the sound is not harsh (Thiel) or analytical (Contour)- IMHO.
Looking to step up from the 804's in the future, most speakers are bigger. Which is fine if you have a bigger room. But while the Dyaudio 3.0's and Nautilus 803 and 802 are better speakers, they would be too big for my living room. Adding a sub to help the bass of the 804's would overload my room with bass and it seems most people turn off the sub when listening to music anyway. Besides it would put the price at about the same price as the Future .5's.
If you are looking for speakers in this price range I would definitely suggest auditioning the Future .5's. I think the price is a bit high so can't give 5 stars there.

Strengths:
Very open clear upper frequencies and midrange. Retains well established bass extension and quality of other ProAcs.

Weaknesses:
Cost.

B&W Nautilus 804/803.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
