$0.00 Summary: As there are no other reviews for this product and I've just recently started listening to them, I figured I'd lend a hand and help set the record straight. In short, these speakers are phenomenal. I'm not an expert but I listen to a lot of music, mostly opera but also to jazz. The soundstage, as they call it, is breathtaking; the ambiance, astonishing. There is in fact very little to fault with the Future 2's. In the shop the technician and I threw on a pair of JMLab Nova Utopia Bes and were quickly disappointed. In no uncertain terms the JM's were an inferior species. They were distant, narrow and tight, in short an old spinster next to a sexy covergirl. The dynamics, whatever the hell that means, were fantastic with the ProAcs. I felt as if I was in the concert hall, the studio or what have you. You always knew were you were with the Future 2's, front row center at the best show in town. They are nothing short of superb loudspeakers damn the price.
Teamed up with:
Counterpoint SA-5000 pre-amp
Sonic Frontiers Power 2 amp Strengths: Ambiance, listening ease, soundstage, detail, midrange, transition (high/low), tailored feel. Weaknesses: Bass (only for those in need of head splitting effects, otherwise the bass was more than impressive with good detail)
Price? As I bought these second hand I paid a reasonable sum but I imagine that they cost a pretty penny at one point. Similar Products Used: JMLab Nova Utopia Be
