Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $85.00 from Circuitcity

Summary:
I bought these on my vacation in Pa. cause tax is cheap but anyway i must say these are some damn good speakers for what I payed. The bass is strong but not too deep (52.5Hz at -5db is what they hit to i measured, the mids are great thanks to the pet driver, and the eyes are very colorful sometimes too overpronounced. Mainly I run 80watts through them (except when i get the urge to plug into my sony surround)on my kenwood and they kick! My kenwood receiver craps out at 91db with a 12db bass boost and they do not distort, well playing reimstein they will but beyond that they pound out just about everything. Pioneer is one of the best. Enough said

Strengths:
Loud without strain, high SNR, warm bass, well pronounced, very colorful, nice design

Weaknesses:
The high range is way to overpronounced, bass is not deep, there hugly as hell without the covers on

JBL, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Aiwa sound products

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
Well, i went to Circuit city to find a decent set of speakers cuz i blew out one of my previous sterio speakers. I compared these to another cheap ass brand and they kicked ass. The cheap ass brand in my opinion sounded better than the bose bookshelves. So i bought these guys and made them a new home. Hooked em up to reciever using monter cable and gave em a test drive. Dude, these things are pretty damn good for a 100 bucks a pair. Clear clean sound. Turn them full on 40 watt reciever and get almost no distortion. Was somwhat disappointed with base . . . not completely dissapointed, somwhatedly. Clear, not too deep but clear. Great for price, lookin for some started to mid speakers, these are great.

Strengths:
Clear sound, i noticed that mid doesnt seem to do jack. all sound comes from woofer and tweeter. Great sound. Clean base and highs

Weaknesses:
Base would have to be the only minor dissapointment, im not a picky guy and these seemed purty dern good so . . . yea

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
These speakers are great for the price. They sound great, however, they lack bass. I also had problems with the tweeters on my first pair and I had to replace the speakers since I fried the tweeters on them. I'm thinking that I did it again on the new pair, because I'm hearing a bit of distortion from them, but I'll have to listen closer and experiment with them. They're also light speakers because the cabinet's made out of cheap lumber and the magnets really don't cost a lot.

Strengths:
Clear sound, price

Weaknesses:
Weight(they're light, maybe that's why they're so cheap) Bass, Tweeters are a bit weak.....see review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
