Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $50.00

Summary:
A punchie and bold performer, sounds bigger than it's power output (2 x 40 watt) might suggest. Always liked the sound, although putting the treble 2 stripes down smoothens the sound a bit (sound is a bit on the bright side of neutral). Had some troubles with the volume, cracking noises (due to oxide and sulfide) and had to clean it for at least once a month. Bought a new one, a Marantz pm 7200 which sounds better on the whole, but it misses the nice punch the sa 7500 has.

Strengths:
Punch and clarity. nice, strong bass excelent build, heavy duty.

Weaknesses:
distorts at high volumes, sound collapses. on the bright side of neutral. clustered facia (ugly knobs)

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $100.00 from 2nd hand dealer

Summary:
I have owned this amp for about 8 years. I was amazed to find it's only 40w per channel. I is a gutsy performer with a nice clean, punchy sound. I also like the beautiful aluminium front.

Strengths:
Well built. Clear sound. Good solid output

Weaknesses:
Power light burn out. Lacks inputs. but as it was 1975 they did not have DVD, playstations and VCR's

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00 from friend

Summary:
I am well pleased by this amp. I''ve got 4 4-ohm Norman Lab Speakers for which I''ve always needed a decent amp. A fellow Libertarian gave this one to me since he had no need for it. I was working on building up a pretty nice system when I got married AND ALL MY CASH DISAPPEARED FOR THE NEXT DECADE. The amp will only drive two four ohm spakers, but that''s okay. That''s a start for me. Our living room is sheetrock and hard wood, so like the previous poster, it does a good job. I was suprised to find it was only 45 watts, because I had been looking at some 100 watt per channel amps and decided I''d give this one a try.

Strengths:
Clean, clear, powerful into 4 ohms.

Weaknesses:
It might be weak under an 8 ohm load.

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $200.00 from American Hi-Fi

Summary:
I owned one of these little gems for over five years and I can honestly say it delivered clean sound despite some severe abuse. The only problem I ever encountered was the power indicator light would burn out about avery 2 years.
At that time I was using a pair of Altec Lansing Model 7's, a Dual 501 turntable, an Alpage tape deck, and the matching Pioneer tuner. I was living in an old house with plaster walls and hardwood floors and the little amp performed like a champion. Years later, I moved into a house with wall to wall carpet and a listening room about twice the size of the original. The SA-7500 couldn't drive the big Altecs in a larger room to my satisfaction, so I sold it at a garage sale for $150. I would recommend this little amp to anyone who can come across one, provided you are willing to accept its lack of large room filling power.

Strengths:
Good sound for a small room with bright characteristics

Weaknesses:
Not enough inputs for my needs at that time

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....
