Review 2 of 2 Summary: The Panasonic DVD-L10 is a terrific second generation portable DVD player. It includes an excellent 5 inch active-matrix screen in letterbox format, stereo speakers, credit-card size remote control, long lasting (+2.5 hours) rechargeable battery, and all the electrical and audio cables needed to get started. It can also double as a home player... it has optical audio out, line out, S-Video out, regular video out, and headphone out. Flip one switch and you can connect a camcorder or other video source and play it on the 5 inch screen (great for overseas vacations which do not have the NTSC video standard). Fit and finish is beautiful... tough and well crafted. Strengths: Excellent picture quality, great "WOW!" factor, VERY portable, long battery life, extra conveniences for home use and travel. Weaknesses: A little pricey (although I shaved $200 off the local prices by buying one online). Also, the owner's manual does not suggest using a cigarette lighter adapter to power the unit while travelling... either buy multiple batteries (over $100 each) or just watch one movie per trip. Similar Products Used: I have a Toshiba DVD player connected to my home theater system, a DVD drive in my iMac and Sony computers, and a DVD drive in my laptop. I wish the Panasonic L-10 was available when I bought my laptop... I would have NOT gotten a laptop with the DVD drive installed. Since I've owned the L-10, I NEVER use the DVD in my laptop.
