I have owned the RS1000s for a couple of years now and I have been extremely satisfied with their performance in both HT and 2ch music listening. They are perhaps the most versitile speakers I have ever heard. They have a great amount of detail, amazing soundstage, good imaging and have an extremely well balanced and smooth sound. For those who know or who have heard about how good the RS850s are, I must let you know that the RS1000's are a step above the RS850s. I find the 850s are an amazing speaker; however, they lack that last bit of bass and at times they sound a bit thin. The 1000s have all the bass that you would ever need and by adding that extra bass, the sound becomes significantly more rich. The 1000s never sound thin or lacking in any respect and I could sit and listen to them for hours without fatigue. I think av123 and Mark Schifter have done an amazing job with this speaker. I think the RS1000s are speakers that can end most people's search for a speaker that they could live with for many many years and even for ever.
