Price Paid:  $0.00 from Lintone Audio

Summary:
I have owned my MVX since 1992 and have had it service through lintone audio.
Out of all the equipment i have used over the years thas has been a main-stay.Its' build quality is far superior to MFs' latest equipment [had that aswell] It has been totally reliable and sonically as good as anything i have heard.[Hard to quantify as it has very little influence on the music] which is as it should be.I have heard it with A MF A370, 2x P180s', F16 and Krell KSA 200.Each time it shone and showed up clearly the differences in the power amps.It produces a very dynamic, clear 3 dimensional sound with great detail,no grain and sounds very natural. This may at first seem "boring" to some but switching to alternatives showed how coloured, grainy and often 2 dimensinal they sounded.I have spent many hours at demos to choose my gear and i have never regretted this purchase. If you are not concerned about a remote control and few people bother now with tape decks [only 1 set] you could do much worse than try and find one of these. It was rated as one of the best preamps ever built -full stop!

Strengths:
Very clear natural ,dynamic sound.Excellent build quality and reliability.Top notch controls [Volume, imput selectors etc]Excellent MM/MC phono stage.

Weaknesses:
Not remote control - deliberate as it was soley designed for its sonic abilities.1 tape loop.

Similar Products Used:
Audio innovations preamp - MVT, F25, Quad, and many more tried but never surplanted MVX.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
