from The Great Indoors Summary: Well i recently had the Kef compact Qs. A very nice speaker. I then heard these but they were better. They were the same price at 299 until i learned they were being discontinued at the price of 199. So i decided to return the Kefs, and buy these save 100 dollars in the process. For 200 bucks it's a great deal. At first i was expecting it to sound a bit weird. However that was not the case. The soundstage as could be expected was massive in scope. The imaging was good if not great but that's forgiveable. I would say these are fairly bright but i haven't broken them in yet. My kefs had more bass, but these seem to have a more spacious and airy sound. The depth to classical and in hall recordings is wonderful. The build quality is good with a few iffy veneers where the plastic meets mdf. I would recommend these be mated with a subwoofer. If you like the sound of dipoles (electrostatics, magneplanars) and bipoles you'll like this sound too. Strengths: Massive soundstage
Very airy treble
Solid midrange
Not boomy bass Weaknesses: Bass response too weak( can't expect good bass from a bookshelf)
Not so great imaging. Similar Products Used: Kef compact Q
