Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I went in to buy Grado's or Sennheiser's. I kind dismissed the Koss, until I heard them. They can nearly match the high end Grads and Senn's, and easily beat the latters offerings in the same price range. The separation and clarity was great. They're not as 'black'as the big boys, but close.

Strengths:
Great for Rock and Roll! Great bass. Don't get mushy in the mid-end. A spatial and balanced sound.

Weaknesses:
Very bad for portables. Break down really isn't a plus. Twin cables

Similar Products Used:
Grado 125, Sennheiser 570 Sony MDR-v900

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $95.00 from On-line

Summary:
The Koss A-250 is proof that Koss *can* build a decent full-size set of dynamic headphones. Overall sound quality is good, and relatively neutral - with good bass extension and weight. Without a doubt, these are worlds better than the re-issue Pro4AA or even the Pro4AA Titanium (actually the A-250 and Pro4AA Titanium sound similar - the A-250 lacks the "canned" character that the Titanium version of the Pro4AA still has). These are definitely not a headphone for use with lightweight electonics... these are home headphones and need to driven as such. Clearly the posts below stating these are junk are from people who are either working for the competition and have never heard them... or trying to drive these with a cheap walkman-type unit. Overall there are definitely better headphones out there, but for the street price - these hold their own very nicely.

Strengths:
Open, neutral sound with strong, extended bass. Lightweight and large makes these very comfortable. Reasonable performance for the street price these sell for.

Weaknesses:
The headband does creak a bit. Not up to par with other headphones at the $150 list price - especially in treble detail (say like what the high-end Sennheiser's have to offer)

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $90.00 from buy.com

Summary:
The Koss A/250 headphones are great. They are durable, I've droped them, stepped on them, and they have take some abuse. They have a nice long 8 foot cord, so I never have any problems reaching the source. They are very comfortable, they go over the ear. Koss gives you a lifetime warrenty, all you pay for is shipping, which is great, but I doubt I'll ever break them.
The sound quality is execellent. The highs, mids and bass are all very accurate. I can hear every little detail, even in the background. Very crisp and clear sounds.
The back part of the headphone is open, so sound escapes a little bit, but its not too bad.
Also, the headband comes off, and it comes with a little leather bag, you can put them in. They fold up very neatly in a nice little package.
I'd recommend these headphones to anyone who listens to all types of music. These phones sound great with water your listening to, in particular acoustic music and classical.

Strengths:
Good highs, mids, bass. Study design. Overall great sound quality.

Weaknesses:
A little big. Uses 1/4" plug, instead of 1/8".

Grado SR-80, Sony MDR-V6, Sony MDR-V600
