Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $20.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
I originally purchased these speakers to simply get a full sound at a low cost. I matched them with a KLH stereo reciever for under 150$. The bass is deffinately sufficient for a stereo setup, but possibly excessive if being used in a HT application with a subwoofer. Highs are not defined and the midrange seems a little muddy, but they still have overall "tight" sound. I would highly recommend these speakers for someone wanting to build an entry-level system, or for use in a secondary system.

Strengths:
Loud Strong, tight bass Inexpensive

Weaknesses:
Highs get lost Midrange kind of muddy

Similar Products Used:
JBL, Sanyo, Sony, Polk, Athena

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $20.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
Based on specs and sturdy construction as well as price, I bought these at BestBuy and was disappointed. They have very good bass, decent lower treble but lack lower midrange and sound muddy. Break-in and good speaker wire helped only somewhat. They are OK for movies (if you add a center channel) and for simple music which uses a lot of bass. Definitely not for complex music like classical, grundge, etc. Replaced them with Athen Point Five, they sound much better, especially for somewhat complex music and have way better imaging. For $20 a pair these KLH make a great deal if you want loud sound with good bass for movies and simple music like rap. For other kinds of music, look elsewhere.

Strengths:
Good bass, cheap, sturdy, sturdy binding posts

Weaknesses:
Lack of lower midrange, uneven sound, lack of imaging

Similar Products Used:
Athena Point Five, Yamaha towers, Telefunken

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $40.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
These speakers are very good. I bought them because I needed cheap, good quality speakers. The bass on these speakers is surprisingly good. I barely have the volume up and the people downstairs can easily hear the bass. I definitely recommend these speakers to anyone who likes to listen to music and wants great quality and loud sound.

Strengths:
They are cheap, have great sound and this is with $1 wire. Excellent for listening to music with.

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
These are my first set of speakers that were not part of a mini system so none.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $20.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
I was very surprised at the construction of these speakers. Very sturdy, 5 way binding posts, nice cloth grill. The sound was very rich, very nice high's, better than expected lows, detailed mids. I compared them to my JBL Home theater tower speakers and there wasn't that much difference except the bass on the KLH speakers were a bit muddy. For only $20 for the pair, I was definately satisfied! I have owned other KLH speakers and have never been disapointed. They are great for loud music and home theater. I would definately recommend these to anyone.

Strengths:
Solid construction, good highs, lows, cheap price

Weaknesses:
Needs a port, might help the bass out a bit

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
