Any one looking for a trouble free, realitively easy to use CD/High Speed CD Dubbing recorder-look no farther. I have recorded at least 200 CD's over the years, and have yet to have any problems, or unplayable CD's.
I alos have a Yamaha CDR-1000 to compare it to.
Just like the Yamaha, it makes lossless high speed digital CD copys. As far as dubbing CD's, it has a one touch button, press and forget, way easier than the Yamaha-which requires you to rip to the hard drive-THEN record the CD.
The JVC can be a bit complicated for analouge recordings, and custom CD's from different sources (i.e remeber to turn auto finalize off!!)-but once you get use to it- it's a breeeze, and offers quite alot of flexability.
The playback is not up to par of my Marantz, but it's still very good for a recoding deck, much better than Sony's-TDKS and Teacs I have heard. On par with the Yamaha.
Thus those picky for ultimate playback quality and resolution, use another deck for playback-a small drawback.
Would highly recommend buying this unit used, over the other problem prone decks. Strengths:
Once trained- very easy and flexiable to use, nice slim profile-Great remote, has been trouble free and mistake free for 9+ years!! Quality constuction-easy to read and understand display-allows monitoring of analogue playback for those of us who prefer this. Weaknesses:
