Price Paid:  $398.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
Bought these on sale to replace some 13 year old bose 10.2 Series II speakes which now provide surround sound. I didn't have a lot of money to work with, so I knew that expensive audiophile speakers were out of the question. After bringing them home and hooking them up, I was a little apprehensive because my center seemed to sound better and louder ever after adjusting them. Before panic set in, I decided to let them break in for 2-3 weeks and then check them again because I heard that speakers have a break in period. Well, after 1 week I noticed that the sound was smoother and more laid back and blended in well with the center so I kept them. After 3 months, they blended seemlessly with the center and the sound is fine. The highs are well defined and not to bright and the mids/vocals are clear. The bass is a little boomy but not bad overall. They fill my whole house with sound not just the living room. They have 5 way binding posts which I just adore. I never did like those spring loaded clips. The frequency range is 40-20,000 Hz. Looks like they built them from 3/8" or 1/2" MDF and then covered them with a wood tone vinyl or laminate. Overall, the looks are good. The size is not to big or to small. Overall, I have to say that for less than $400, I am very pleased with these speakers.

Strengths:
Clear and well defined.

Weaknesses:
Bass is a little boomy but not bad overall.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
