Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Soundtrack

Summary:
These speakers stood out for me as hiving the most "natural" sound of several bookshelf I auditioned at the time. At $100 each, the value definitely made an impression. The 125 W power handling and bass response down to 60 Hz is actually quite respectable for a home theater application. Your sub-woofer won't have to work very hard.

Strengths:
Balanced natural and musical sound. Good power handling and bass response for a small speaker.

Weaknesses:
Not an extremely accurate speaker - covers up some deficiencies in recordings. Stereo imaging is not particularly stable. Imaging in a 5.1 setup is good though.

Similar Products Used:
B&W DM302, Vandersteen Model One, Tannoy nearfield monitors.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $25.00 from craigs list

Summary:
I purchased these from a guy on craigs list with the infinity entra two and the entra center for $100.00. For the price I paid these are great speakers. The c.m.m.d drivers are really clean and they sound really good when playing vinyl . When playing digital they can get a little harsh, but they are not bad speakers they really are a fantastic bargin. When I got them they weren't even broken in yet, and now that I have gotten to put some time into them they have gotten even better. They have really opened up and I can't complain at all about the sound. The bass on these speakers is quite impressive considering they only have a single 6" driver in each box. The fit and finish of these speakers is well above what they were going for. Even if these were bought brand new I think these are a great bargain , and well worth a look for some one who needs a bedroom system, or even as a main two channel system. No they are not B&W, Wilson, Martin Logan, or any other high end speaker you can think of,and if you expect that out of these you will be disappointed. If though, you have a budget and you want good sound for you're money these will not dissapoint.

Strengths:
amazing bass for a speaker this size. very clean and accurate high and mid range. pretty good fit n' finish . `

Weaknesses:
could really use by wiring capabilities. bass sometimes a little to good, definetly need stands if used in two channel as mains.

Similar Products Used:
most mid-fi stuff

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
