Price Paid:  $2500.00 from Future Shop

Summary:
So I auditioned these speakers at a Future Shop store and I wasn't all that impressed at first. However, knowing the stores 30 day return policy I decided to give them a try in my house. In-Store they were sitting on a shelf in an aisle with about 40 televisions. That said they didn't have a fair chance.

The Equipment used:
-Harman/Kardon AVR520
-Harman/Kardon DVD50

My space:
-20x12
-Speakers Positioned along the narrow wall 2 feet from each side wall, and 2 feet from the rear wall.
-My listening position was dead center within the sweet spot.

Let me first say that these speakers have completely exceeded every one of my expectations. They have a very well balanced sound with an awesome soundstage. They have a very small footprint but don't let that fool you, they have very solid bass response that will have you putting your subwoofer out on the lawn. They are also very real sounding and virtually flawless.

One thing you may here about these speakers is that they have been manufactured in china. However this is the case with most of everything and I have not found anything in the way of build quality issues with these speakers.
It should also be mentioned that although they are built in china, all the speakers are unpacked, tested, and inspected in canada on the former assembley line in scarborough, Ontario. The fact that they are chinese made is a non-issue, and has only made them more affordable.

If you have hear the Energy Veritas line you will agree with me that although they are nearly twice the price they are not twice the speaker. I will argue that this is energy's best overall speaker line.

Strengths:
Build quality, soundstage, Punchy Bass, Incredible detail, and awesome value. Magnetic grill covers are really cool, and do not rattle. The metal on metal contact was a concern but is not an issue as the previous poster has mentioned.

Weaknesses:
too much plastic on the grill covers between the speaker and the listener. However this is not a concern because the grills easily snap off for critical listening.

Similar Products Used:
Definitive Technology BP8, Klipsch RF-63, Nuance Studio Grand (rare, and discontinued. One of the few good products out of that company), Athena Technologies LS500

Price Paid:  $2500.00 from a&b sound

Summary:
Very impressive sound for the price. These speakers have great bass extension complimented with well balanced highs. The sound stage is wide and open with impressive imaging. The finish of these speakers match the quality of the sound which are available in black, rosenut, and cherry. The speakers are smooth in finish with no visible seams at all. The grills attach magnetically which was a small concern for me being that its metal on metal but I havent heard and resonances off them as of yet. As with any quality loudspeaker these ones state a break in time of around 100 hours so let them work for a while at medium volume with white noise to break in properly. after the break in period I noticed a big difference in bass extension as well as the tweeter softening up to the right level. I was most impressed with the dispersion when listening off axis. Whether of to the left or right both speakers were boldly present giving these speakers a huge sweet spot. Great speakers in my opinion and I would reccomend to anyone who is looking to get great sound for a reasonable price.

Strengths:
Off axis dispersion was excellent beautiful design and look great bass response for 2 6.5" drivers. impressive imaging. solid gold plated bi-wireable terminals die cast aluminum baskets instead of punched.

Weaknesses:
magnetic grill looks cool but metal on metal concerns me for the posibility of resonance. grill also has a lot of plastic between the speaker and listener.
