Price Paid:
$0.00 Summary: I am a stereo guy, a 2 channel guy. I have had or still have BAT, Blanced Audio Tech, Conrad Johnston, Nad, Luxman, Adcom, Von Gaylord Audio, Legend Audio Design, Yamaha, Apogee speakers, Krell, ProAc speakers, and now I have Energy EXL-25 speakers. I am very impressed with these speakers. I just sold my B&W DM2 II speakers because the Energy speakers sound much better. To they are clean, transparent, just what I was looking for for my bedroom. Acctually it's a TV room and a stereo room where I can go and listen to my stereo or watch TV. For the price, these speakers are so nice sounding. I am impressed.

Price Paid:
$300.00
from Custom & used audio Summary: I've had these for only one day & already I'm floored. Fantastic in every way, nice warm, neutral tone & ultra-full imaging. Bi-amp/Bi-wirable to boot! Sweet cabinet design & very heavy for such a slim tower. I'm used to nice British sound & these speakers mesh beautifully with my other home-theater Mission & Wharfedales. Strengths: Tone, imaging, cabinet build quality (go Canada!) Weaknesses: Haven't heard any yet. Similar Products Used: Too many speakers to remember & some I'd like to forget (and a few I'd like a refund on).

from Surround Sound Summary: I Bought two pairs one pair for the mains and the others for the rears. I can only say that they are fantastic. I had 2 pairs of linear Speakers which was great for music but crap for home theatre. The Energy's I found you can hear every detail which makes me very happy with the purchase. Strengths: Fantastic Sound and great grille covers so the kids cannot put their fingers through. Weaknesses: None. If you reading this just go and buy them, but make sure you have a quality amp like Yamaha, Onkyo or Denon etc Similar Products Used: Nothing

Review 5 of 26
Price Paid:
$550.00
from Danby Radio - Pennsy Summary: I use these speakers along with a Nakamichi RE-10 stereo reciever and a Rotel RCD951 CD player. The motivation of buying this system was to listen to music, but I've also used the equipement to watch DVDs (Sony Wega 27FS13 and Toshiba SD300X). Music-wise the wole package sounds better than movie-wise (dialogue is sometimes difficult to understand), but I assume that this is due to my entry-level DVD player (and DVD is not optimized for 2 speakers).
I'm extremely pleased with the speakers, they are very balanced in the output (treble, midrange, bass). Soundstage is very nice too. I'm particularly fond of the bass because, while strong in output, it is not boomy. Identifying the sound of individual musical instruments is very easy.
Placing the speakers to optimize sound quality is tricky - but I understand that this is almost always the case with all speakers.
When I bought the system described I wanted to get better sound and quality than dept. store stuff and I am more than pleased with my choice. Strengths: Very well balanced speakers. Price.
A few months ago I burned the tweeters (embarrasing mistake on my side - don't ask for details :-) and I contacted Energy directly. They were very helpful in having the problem solved. Weaknesses: The speakers are heavy, tall and slim. This is a consideration for those with pets and small children. I have a 2 year old daughter (that knows better than to touch the stereo or the speakers :-) and nothing has ever happened. Still, sometimes I wonder ...
Minor issue: the plastic feet need frequent retightening. They could be of better quality. Similar Products Used: Only dept store junk that will never buy again. I rather spend $1500 for a good stereo that'll last 10 years instead of $200 for a crappy stereo that lasts 1 year.
