from Richer Sounds, Liver Summary: I bought these speakers only after seeing them in a half price sale, and with cash burning a hole in my pocket, i linked them to a Cambridge A1V2.0 amp, and my PC with only Intel Celeron on-board sound card. Since then, only 4 months ago, i've been so impressed, and bitten by the Hi Fi bug so bad, that i now use my Liberty 5's with a Technics CD player and tuner, and i've upgraded to a Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum soundcard to get the most from them. I'm still hoping to connect them to a DVD/home cinema system. Strengths: Power. I live in a ground floor flat, and apparently i've made light bulbs rattle on the 3rd story at only HALF VOLUME! Incredibly deep and rich bass, and a warm, rounded sound. Deals with vocals very well, so i imagine would be excellant as part of a home cinema/DVD system. For the money, these are unbelieveable. 100 pounds was a bargin for this kind of quality. Put it like this, the first time i played Muse's 'Plug In Baby' through this set up, i almost cried at the superb low and mid end bass. I gave these 5 stars for 2 simple reasons: they're a giant killing bargin, and far better than i imagined. Weaknesses: Can be slightly too 'bassy' at times. Music with a strong bass line, like hard rock, drum and bass etc can come across as a bit sluggish as the speakers get bogged down in bass. However, i'm sure this is mostly due to the fact that my soundcard (my entire music collection is digital mp3/wma) is new and not correctly set up. Similar Products Used: Variety of Eltax, Sony, Technics and Panasonic speakers.
