from Audiogon Summary: The most salient feature of this cable is its transparency. When I first installed these on my system, between the pre-amp and the amp, I was surprised by the lack of 'metallic sound' that is often associated with silver cables. These cables provide ample fullness and slam to bass notes, throatiness and fullness to the midrange, and clarity to high notes.
In comparison to the Monarchy cable, which is the only other XLR cable that I own, the Elco's breathed life into my system, and, for that, I must rate them accordingly. The build quality is exemplary and I'm not one to compliment the build quality of a cable.
You can purchase them at auction on Audiogon. The price range is generally $90 - $150, which is a steal at this price. Elco is a small Pennsylvania company that deserves wider acceptance. Strengths: Build quality; neutrality; openness; dynamic range Weaknesses: none Similar Products Used: Kimber, XLO Ref, Monarchy
