Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $190.00 from www.audiophileanswer

Summary:
I wanted to purchase a cable whose performance would surpass a Better Cables Silver Serpent without having to shell out a load of cash. After reading some of the reviews here I gave the Jaguar a try and I was pleasantly surprised by the results.

This cable provides a good deal more detail than the SS and the overall sound is very pleasant. As other reviews note, the highs can be a little edgy, but its not that annoying.

Audioquest promotes its Dielectric-Bias system which generates a shielding electrostatic field around the conductors. They claim that it provides unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. I concur with their statements.

It is a significant step better than the passive Better Cable SSs.

Strengths:
- very detailed overall sound
- short, almost null, break-in period
- very balanced bass and midrange

Weaknesses:
- batteries will wear out in n years, n > 5.
- adds a little sibilance and slight glare in the highs

Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
This cable sounds very dynamic with an organic sound, the highs are always in control and do not tend to sound harsh.
Bass response and extension is great, very balanced.
It excells in tranparancy in lows and mids.
I think there ain't anything that this cable does really wrong,
though there are faster sounding cables, or cables that produce softer high frequenties.

Strengths:
Balance, tranparancy. Organic. Dynamics.

Weaknesses:
Maybe sometimes al little sharp in the highs.
Not the fastest cable.

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $105.00 from eBay

Summary:
Prior to using the AQ Jaguar, I was using cryo'd Vampire wire CCCII interconnects between my CDP and preamp and between preamp and amp (which are Marantz CC4300, Tube Audio Design TAD-150 and Cayin TA-30, respectively). The sound from these cables are very involving with excellent midrange in particular. The treble was very slightly soft, without being boring.

I found two 0.5M Jaguars at a bargain price of $105 each on eBay and decided to give them a try, since I have had awesome experience with AudioQuest's products before (NRG-2 power cords and CV-4.2 (with 48v DBS speaker cables) and I have complete faith in them.

My initial impression was excellent treble which was not rolled of, but musical with great tone, and transparency which allowed delicate notes to emerge. There was slight graininess so I waited a few days before doing any serious evaluation.

After about three weeks of use, with the 36V DBS hooked up, I did my A/B with the previous Vampire CCCII ICs. The AQ Jaguars were considerably better with:
* More delicate and musical tone
* A lot of detail, hall/venue sound and nuance
* Slightly wider soundstage and there's better image separation
* The best piano tone iI've ever heard
* Astonishing good cymbal decay is awesome
* Nice organic sound
* Good bass definition, weight and slam

In remeber feeling there was actually too much detail, but I quickly got used to it and began to enjoy the transparecy and live feeling with concert music. These cables simply disappear, enabling you to simply sit back and enjoy the music.

I feel AudioQuest's products are excellent value. Their pricing is at the sweetspot in their categories, and their prices always match the performance as you go up their product line.

Strengths:
Treble, detail, venue/hall sound are easily conveyed, clarity, tone, transparency, dead quiet noise floor.

Weaknesses:
None I can think off.

Similar Products Used:
Vampire wire CCCII, Belkin PureAV Silver series, Acoustic Research Master Series MS230, Blue Jeans Belden 1505F.

Review 5 of 6

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Sound Factor

Summary:
This cable replaced a Diamondback in which I've used for a certain time. The Jaguar requires a break-in period of 100 hours at least to get the best possible audio rewards, even though it sounded astonishing while the break-in period, unlike the Diamondback which was a little colored and mids were limited the Jaguar kept asking for more, sounded airy and bass was very tight and pronounced, mids were just a pleasure. I've listened to Rock, Jazz, New Age and Classics to see what I've been missing when I was using the Diamondback, On the cd "Sarah Brightman- HAREM" I was floored when I heard a guitar riff on the song title 10, amazing since it was one of my favorite cd's it just came alive and airy. The transparency was exquisite and imaging has improved alot, the general dynamics was way better than the Diamondback. Next review was "Special-EFX-Doble Feature" oh!man was it a blessing why in the world have I not have a better cable listening to these guys, now it's like you grin bigger when you hear the guitar of Jinda playing, just amazing. Audioquest is really a great cable company that do their research impeccably, albiet there would be some that would like to see this company falter, but in my case I would gladly keep buying their products and that's no BULL. Forget about other cables that promotes better imaging, transparency and dynamics, I've used Kimber Kable, and Cardas I thought they made my equiptment sound old, but that's just to my taste. The Jaguars will be a great worthwile investment while I save up for the Cheetah or Sky, but for now I am enjoying the fruits of DBS from the Jaguar so what's the rush

Strengths:
MIDS, BASS

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
Cardas,Kimber-Kable,Tara-labs
