Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00 from online

Summary:
VT-60 SE .Simply a wonderful musical hunk of metal. When used with a powered sub it makes my Proac speakers sing like angels. Great build quality, never a problem. If you want a great stepping stone into true magic at a great price . grab one. BTW the people at ARC are the nicest people around

Strengths:
Smooth musical sound , Great bass, deep mids and smooth top end. Magical. Superior reliable build quality

Weaknesses:
None , But 60 watts may not cut it for very large rooms . If you need to get the led out !

VTL ST 150, Tandberg 3012

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
If you are looking for a no nonsense medium power amp that delivers tube magic at a reasonable price be sure to test drive this amp. It will probably outlive you so don't think it will ever give you a reason to trade it other then to own something different not better.I hesitate to give it a 5/5 only because of its plain Jane exterior.

Strengths:
Built like a tank with premium parts. Very neutral sound with no glare. I have used it only with easy to drive speakers so I can't comment on its ability to drive difficult loads. It was ment to be a low profile workhorse that works in the background and continus to deliver the goods. On that level it succeeds.

Weaknesses:
Ugly as sin case with black tube cage. Would have appreciated some attention to cosmetics which could have been done at little or no additional cost.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
These tube power amp has output power of 50w/ch.High quality signal capacitors like Wonder and Rel capacitors used throughout the circuit board. When used with high quality tube preamp ,these amp can produce dynamic, breaktaking scale power and natural sound.Whenever play with classical, pop, new age and vocal music ,these amp always managed to produce crystal clear treble ,natural midrange and tight bass. Can't believe 50W tube amp can produce that kind of low end punch.I think the success factor is the used of 6550 tube in the output stage.
This is one of the best tube amp I know for that price range.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
