Review 1 of 26

Price Paid:  $429.00 from BestBuy

Summary:
Overall, I'd recommend the TV to anyone who wants an excellent picture in a moderate price range. I've had no repair trouble at all and enjoy the picture immensely.

Strengths:
I've been very happy with this TV, especially when I recently plugged in a DVD player (Toshiba SD-2800) I felt I could tap the potential of the TV finally. Now the picture just feels perfect. Besides my satisfaction with the viewing, I've had good luck regarding repairs: in over two years of ownership, including two moves, I haven't had one problem with the TV. The component inputs at back have allowed me to plug in a PSX system, VCR, DVD easily at various times, and any two of these can be attached anytime. The jacks near the bottom are pretty easy to get to (as long as I'm having an easy time crouching on my knees), and since they are recessed at least 6 inches, the TV can remain flush against the wall and I can still make component input changes.

Weaknesses:
Since I don't use its internal tuner (the digital cable box handles that and the TV stays on Ch3), I don't have that complaint to add. And through my use of various flat screen PC monitors and a Sony Wega TV, I'm occasionally aware of the curvature of this Toshiba tube, I don't think of it while I'm watching - it only occurs to me when I'm walking by, say, when the TV is off!

Similar Products Used:
Sony Wega 27" - picture quality of the Sony is extremely crisp, but colors are a little colder (I can't say more or less accurate, but the Toshiba tube feels warmer to me, without being inaccurate) an

Review 3 of 26

Price Paid:  $350.00 from 800.com

Summary:
So far I have enjoyed this TV. The picture is quite good from my Toshiba SD-2109 through the component video inputs. The tuner is really slow, so I am using the tuner in my Sony VCR for channel surfing. The screen is a lot more curved than my old Magnavox, if that is important to you. My only other complaint is that it does not have the SmartSound feature that the Magnavox had, so I have to adjust the volume during obnoxious commercials. I look forward to the day when I can purchase the Toshiba TW40H80 :)

Strengths:
Component Video Inputs

Weaknesses:
Slow tuner

Similar Products Used:
Magnavox 27" (I forget the model number)

Company customer service is hard to reach and emails
are going into nowhere. I would not recommend this model

Hum which is bad for DVD/movie play. Far from flat screen.
Terrible customer service.

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
