Review 1 of 27

Price Paid:  $650.00 from American

Summary:
I wouldn't buy this TV again!!! Listen to the reviews and don't even look at these TV's. My was working fine and then the picture started to bow on the sides. I called toshiba and the sent me to 3 different shop to get it fixed. After the repair shop had my TV for over a month they gave it back and it was still broken. Now toshiba wants me to send it back to then again so it can be fixed AGAIN. This is a far cry from good service and quality.

Review 2 of 27

Price Paid:  $650.00 from American

Summary:
I've had this television for 9 months now and haven't had any problems with it. The piture looks great when I watch DVDs and I like the PIP viewer. After reading other reviews I purchased the 5 year in home service. If the T.V. works as good as mine I would recommend it to others for a good value/quality choice.

Strengths:
-2 Tuner PIP
-

Weaknesses:
-none

Review 3 of 27

Price Paid:  $699.00 from ABC Warehouse

Summary:
I must have gotten a set built early in the week (versus on a Friday) as I've had no problems in the 6 months I've had it. Based on these reviews, however, I opted for a 5 year in-home warranty.

The 2-tuner picture-in-picture was great during football season. I didn't appreciate the crispness of the picture until a month ago when I (finally) purchased a DVD player. What a differnce digital makes! I no longer rent tapes. Though not quite as sharp as the stratospherically-priced Sony flatscreens, most viewers will be happy with this set.

I found the setup menu to be fairly easy to navigate. I have not used a reference disk to calibrate, but did make some changes during initial setup to soften the picture. The internal surround settings doesn't simulate surround sound, but does broaden the soundstage a bit. It is no substitute for home theater components, though.

For my money and viewing habits, this is a great set.

Strengths:
- Crisp picture
- Composite video inputs
- Easy to use remote
- 2-tuner PIP

Weaknesses:
- None seen yet

Review 4 of 27

Price Paid:  $457.00 from American Appliance

Summary:
I just picked this floor model up at American Appliance for $457.00. Not to bad of a deal, although I had to get service on it which was $200 additional for the 5 year in home coverage. But I had to get coverage on it and I actually managed to get an additional $40 off the price after doing some bargaining with the saleswoman. Considering I've had it for only 1 day, I suppose I can't give a sufficient review of the set, but I'm glad I have full in home coverage for 5 years after reading some of these reviews.......I will post another review in a couple months. Would any of you be so kind to email me a PDF of the manual OR fax a photo copy? I didn't get one with the TV since it was a floor model.

Weaknesses:
None so far.....

Review 5 of 27

Price Paid:  $750.00 from NBTW

Summary:
Hi, This is an update to my previous review, which was bad, this one is even worse. The repairman took the chassis out of my TV , kept it for about two weeks, I had to have a friend stay at my residence because they wouldn't come back on a saturday, they said they did a modification to the chassis ,now the brightness level is so low that at a 100% the picture is too dark, you definetly cannot use theatre mode, plus all the original problems are still there, now this thing is just a huge "POS". I am going to fight with everone to get rid of it, starting with credit card company, store purchased at, manufacturer, and I of coarse will under no circumstances either purchase another toshiba product nor recommend anyone buy one, I won't even use capital letters spelling there name, I anyone has any suggestions that may help please feel free to e mail me, thanx.
