Price Paid:  $800.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
I will never buy anything with the Toshiba name again. I bought a Toshiba 32 inch flat screen television model 32AF41 less than two years ago for about $800. I chose not to purchase an extended warranty. Big mistake. After a year and a month, it was in the shop getting a new high voltage transformer ($212.00). Six months after that, it was in the shop again and stayed there for two months because the technician couldn't solve the problem. I had to call Toshiba to get them to intervene only to have them tell me I wasn't using an authorized service center, even though it was listed on their web page as such. After taking it to another service center, they told me it needed a new CRT and the pin cushion circuit had a bad transister and several bad diodes. The tube was under warranty but it was still going to cost $180 dollars to get it up and running. Of course, this is a brief synopsis of the story and I have went through a lot of trouble trying to get this fixed. Toshiba Customer Service is nothing that its name would imply and basically told me I am an unlucky person for buying a lemon and I'm stupid for taking a TV to a place they listed as an authorized service center but was not authorized. After three months, I cut my loses and told the technician to dump the set. I just wasted over a thousand dollars. Please don't add to the wealth of this company.

Strengths:
none

Weaknesses:
very unreliable

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
