Price Paid:  $225.00 from Target

Summary:
I bought this TV to replace a 10 year old Mitsubushi 27" TV that had a bad tuner. I wanted a full-featured 27" TV that would fit within the 28" width constraints of my home entertainment center cabinet. This width constraint eliminated consideration of all flat screen models, as well as models with speakers on the side, such as Toshiba's 27A43. I wanted two sets of AV inputs, with component inputs, and audio outputs. The Toshiba met my requirements, and Toshiba products had been highly regarded by Consumers Reports in regards to performance and reliability. Since I've only had it a couple of weeks, I haven't taken the time to tweak the video settings, but so far, I'm satisified. The factory brightness level seems less than the Mitsubushi, but since this in in a dark basement, its fine. For the price, I'm well satisfied. I bought it at Target and got a 10% discount when I signed up for a Target credit card, well worth the effort for a $25 savings.

Strengths:
Full set of input/output jacks. Very flat picture tube for a conventional tube. Ability to name channels. Decent sound. Overall, a very good TV with a minimum of bells-and-whistles.

Weaknesses:
Remote is TV only, no universal remote. No big problem, as I use a unified remote anyway. I'm somewhat surprised at the lack of automatic clock setting features, as well as the lack of the ability to display the name of the TV program (which the old Mitsubushi was able to do). Also, it doesn't seem to automatically to go closed caption upon muting.

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
