Review 1 of 130

Price Paid:  $1800.00 from Jersey Camera

Summary:
Would never buy again. Second time that it has required a very expensive and time consuming repair. It was repaired just 3 months ago and same problem, just all of a sudden stops working, won''t turn on. Then need to schedule time off of work for repair shop to pick up and deliver back, plus they have it about a month to fix. Is there such a thing as a lemon law for tvs. jean

Review 2 of 130

Price Paid:  $1640.00 from Stereo Advantage

Summary:
This product is an excellent HD ready Piece. The sound is good and progressive scan capability makes DVD's look awesome. With two HD/DVD inputs the TV has enough inputs to satisfy my needs. The only problem I have seen is a white bar that seems to apprear randomly. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? The remote is easy to use even though the cover is hard to open. Also the mute button is way out of place in the upper left hand corner. Your best bet is to look at one for yourself and try it out. It's all about personal preference. This TV is not a nessecity to all people only if you are looking for an HD ready set. To use all the features of this television I needed to purchase another $800 satelite and $300 DVD player but it was definitely worth it.

Strengths:
Awesome Picture Quality, Easy to use remote, Flat Screen

Weaknesses:
Weight - Who Cares?

Similar Products Used:
Toshiba, JVC

Review 3 of 130

Price Paid:  $1400.00 from Used

Summary:
Please can anyone tell me how to turn off Velocity Scan Modulation?
I could not find it using service codes.
I know that I can use "Video Label" menu renaming Video input as "WEB", but alone with the VSM there is a substantial loss of brightness, which in turn I cannot correct without loosing overall quality of the picture.
Thank you.

Strengths:
Great picture from perfect source.

Weaknesses:
Bad picture from not perfect source.

Review 4 of 130

Price Paid:  $1800.00 from Internet Retailer

Summary:
The picture on this tv is incredible!! I spent about 2 months researching this before I bought it. I also used it for a year and a half before I posted this review. I went to every electronics retailer in town and looked at Proscan's, Mitsu's, Panasonic's, Toshiba's everything. I even had the tv's moved around so I could look at them side by side. Nothing even came close to the XBR except HDTV which is admittedly better, slightly. I haven't experienced ONE problem at all! Just make sure you've got a coupla good strong backs to put it in place. It weighs 236lbs!

Strengths:
Picture quality, flat screen.

Weaknesses:
A little heavy, but who cares?

Similar Products Used:
Other Sony's and a Panasonic

Review 5 of 130

Price Paid:  $2000.00

Summary:
Don't bother to buy this product. I already spent
around $500 on repairs. Sony covers only 1 yr warranty.
Problems pop up only after a year.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
